Why I Chose Cosmetology

Have you ever decided what you wanted to be whenever you grow up? I'm sure by the time you get to your last semester of high school people ask you all the time, what do you want to be when you grow up or when you graduate high school? You've heard this question since the time you were little. But some people may know what they want to be and some may still be un decided.
I know when I graduate high school I want to go for cosmetology. Actually by the summer after I graduate high school I should have a degree in cosmetology.
I'm sure you're wondering how. Well at my school we have this program that allows you to go one step further. This program is called Twin Rivers. In order to be in this program you have to be accepted into it. It's a two
year class. You can start it either when you are a junior or a senior in high school. I started in my senior year. The way this program works, it is a faster way to get your degree. I go to my high school up until third hour. After third hour I go to the Vincennes Beauty
Collage. I go there until four-thirty. At the VBC they tech you everything you need to know about cosmetics. From the hair to make up to the anatomy of the body to skin diseases. Being in this program can help accomplish many things. If you start out in this program as a junior you have a very high chance of having a degree before you graduate. I wish I would have started in this program last year.
In order it start cosmetology through twin rivers the cost for all of this is about one thousand dollars. If I went to cosmetology after I graduated high school I would have to pay about ten thousand dollars. Now let's say I wanted to drop out of the schooling and the program. I would have to pay that ten thousand dollars back.
Being in the actual high school classes there really is not any classes to take prepare you for this career. That is why they have this program.
Why would some people want to be in cosmetology? Or what is so amazing about it? Well for some it is a dream to have. Everyone likes different things in life.
Not everyone will have the same goals. You are also not all cooped up sitting in an office or doing major labor all day. Being a stylist also gives you many opportunities to meet new people. Never know you may even get to meet a
celebrity!

Cosmetologists who work full time can usually expect to receive benefits that include paid time off and medical insurance. One extra benefit for working in cosmetology is that you could open up your own shop and own your own salon.
It takes time to figure out what you want to be when you are older. Not everyone grows up to have a dream of doing something or always having this plan that they plot in their head of what they want to do whenever they are older. For some it even takes them until they have graduated high school to go to collage and figure out what they would like to do or be. In order to work in cosmetology you have to have a desire for it. Every since I was a little girl I've ways wanted to do hair or work in the nursing field. After I graduate high school and finish my cosmetology I'm thinking about going to school to be an Register Nurse.
The reason why I have chose these careers is because I love working with people and the public. I also love meeting new people. Working in cosmetology has always been a dream of mine and now I can finally accomplish my dream and my goals!
