Why I Chose Criminal Justice

The things that interest me about criminal justice is how career wise you can get into things from corrections to forensic science. I also enjoy the way that it can be broken down into different variations. I feel criminal justice is on demand due to the fact people always committing crimes. Today every time I watch Ch.7 news I hear a new story of a senseless crime or how cops are on the hut for a killer on the run. I become engaged in what’s going on and I like to feel as if im that officer on the hunt for the suspect wanted. I become so intrigued into what can give someone the guts to want to commit such heinous crimes. With all the television shows such as Judge Judy and the first 48 it allowed me to learn more about what really goes on in criminal justice field which lead me to become more interested in the study of criminal justice. I just enjoy hearing the outcome of situations. I become so eager to find out the outcome of crimes or even a verdict. I become very much determine to hear the outcome of situations. I put myself in the shoes of the victim’s family or person at that moment I want to see the outcome like what’s going to be the punishments that this suspect is going to soon
I would never forget the time I heard the story of a classmate of mines being faced with murder at such a young age. Me being into criminal justice I studied the story not due to the fact that the student was close to me but because I want to learn what can drive someone at such a young age to commit such a brutal crime. This is the reason why I believe this area interest me the most because I want to learn the outcome what is going to be the courts verdict for this young teen. Yes he’s a teen but will the court take that into consideration due to age or will the court build enough evidence to convict him as an adult. In my opinion I believe people should be held responsible for his or her actions age shouldn’t determine punishment I believe the actions should determine the punishment.
