I will automatically be enrolled in a program called TRICARE. TRICARE will make all doctor and dentist appointments cost little to nothing. Yearly I will receive $15,745 as a family or $5,615 singularly. When I become a marriage and family therapist I will see lots of issues. My work environment will include anger or even depression. I will have to be willing to deal with problems like substance abuse or LGBTQ community problems.I have to be willing to be understanding and I will have to patient. I will have to see things from many points of view to understand it. Over a year I will have worked anywhere between 2,000 and 4,000 hours. That is a lot of hours but it will be worth it to help other people. In 2012, 6,000 people in California were employed as a marriage and family therapist. In 2022, it is projected that 7,400 will be working as a marriage and family therapist. Hopefully, when I’m old enough to obtain that career they’ll be more openings available and a higher chance for me to get a job. It is reported that marriage and family therapists will have an opening of 140 spaces due to growth. It will have an additional 130 spaces due to replacement. In total there will be approximately 270 spaces available. As more time passes more spaces will become available. I find that reassuring. If spaces weren’t growing each year and they were decreasing I would feel discouraged and give up my dream. But since they are growing I find it assuring that I’ll have a chance. It encourages me to try harder so I can be one of those 270 people that end up as a marriage and family

For me what interest me the most about the professional to have that mindset to be grateful for what I have in my life and focusing on how society works as a whole. I viewed social work to be a very open minded profession. Throughout my last year of high school I was reconsidering my career of social work because I was nervous to attended college. I wanted to wait out a year before going to college because I didn't know what it was going to be like, but I had to do what was best for me and go straight from high school to college so it wouldn’t be hard for me when i get into my young adulthood. Being surrounded in a positive environment allowed me to want to continue this career choose. Also, I was guided by my family to do the right thing because growing up seeing how hard it was for my mother I wanted her to see that I was going for a career that I would stick to. Even though I am in the program now in college it is not what I expected but the fact that I got the chance it is a real eye opener to have the experience to continue on in the…
