The reason I chose to be a sports physician is because it looked fun, and because I was interested in what they were doing to help athletes heal quicker, and I want to be able to help people by making them feel better quicker. Sports physicians on average make between $150,000-$300,000 a year, and they are in school on average from 10-15 years and they have four years with a bachelor’s degree when they get out of college. If they do stay the whole recommended years then they eventually work their way to a PhD. The recommended classes are pharmacology, behavioral science, biochemistry, anatomy, and pathology, along with a 3-7 year college course. The first one I am going to talk about is the wrist. The wrist has different ways of lifting, rotating, and dropping stuff in order to manipulate objects. Both the radius and ulna connect different ligaments to the bones in order to make it more flexible. Sports physicians and surgeons are related because they both diagnose or treat illnesses and

While everyone else is screaming about the quarterback who just scrambled for a touchdown on fourth-and-seven, that guy at the end of your row may be pondering a different number -- a 3 percent agent's fee on $20 million in guaranteed money, perhaps. . Money hungry, sneaky, dishonest, unscrupulous. These are words that some athletes would use to describe a sports agent that they’ve had bad dealings with. Even a casual football fan has seen the impact of that scramble in the run-up to the current season. This past summer, universities across the South found themselves embroiled in controversies regarding player agent relationships, and one coach -- Nick Saban, of national champion University of Alabama -- angrily compared some agents to pimps. A good agent can help a professional athlete attain financial and mental stability during and after his career. An incompetent or dishonest agent can ruin an athlete’s playing career and threaten his financial security for years afterward. I aspire to be a great sports agent in the field of football with hard work, hands-on experience, dedication, and perserverance.…

Seeing that I am a prospective Physical Education teacher, I believe that Physical Education plays an important role in a child’s development. According to Mark Hecimovich (2001), “Sports participation can provide youth with a social environment that fosters fair play, competitiveness, and achievement. The psychological and social benefits of regular physical activity help in coping with stress and anxiety, counterbalance the burden and symptom of excessive quiet sitting and mental concentration, and have a favourable influence on developing a positive self-image and functional social relationship”, so I applaud you for making an attempt to get your child involve in a formal club so that she can become an elite athlete and get involve in physical activity however there are numerous dangers in participating in a specific sport at an early age. Novak (1976), view sports as, “the progressive loss of freedom in exchange for increased excellence and precision. Thus, young athletes who choose to specialize sacrifice creative spontaneity and playful impulses to become increasingly oriented toward record setting and quantitative assessments”. Children don’t get to do what children at their age should be doing like engaging in jump ropes, hopscotch, moral, monkey bars, ketch and hide and seek that they enjoy doing and is active at the same time.…

Athletic training is a career that can only be practiced by athletic trainers. This is because all jobs in the athletic field play a specific part and a different role in athletics (Albohm, 2009). Another reason why athletic training is only practiced by athletic trainers is because many people confuse physical therapists and with athletic trainers. The difference is that physical therapists are therapist who treats injuries or dysfunctions with exercises and other physical treatments of the disorder. An athletic trainer is a certified health care professional who practices in the field of medical athletic training. In the field of athletic training, the main goal is to prevent, diagnose, and treat injuries and illnesses of any kind dealing with sports. Athletic trainers work with people of all ages and all skill levels, from young children to soldiers and professional athletes. The reason why athletic trainers work with people of different backgrounds, is because they work in many different job settings. According to the National Athletic Trainers’ Association these job settings may consist of working in colleges and universities, hospitals and clinics, occupational, military, performing arts, physician extender, professional sports, public safety, and secondary schools. But some of main job settings that they work in are college universities, hospitals, physician extenders, professional sports, secondary schools, and the military. As the career of athletic training advanced into a medical profession, many job settings have required athletic trainers to be a part of their programs and be a major service for care and assistance (Albohm, 2009).…

From an early age I have enjoyed playing and watching sports. So when my dad took me to the Kansas University football game where my uncle was the athletic trainer I became very interested in what the job was all about. Over the years my uncle has helped me recover from sports injuries and I thought it would be fun to be on the other side and also become an athletic trainer so I can help athletes play their sport without any injuries just like my uncle did for me. I chose an athletic trainer because I have always have had a love for sports and an interest in the medical field and this career has a great combination of both of those things. After researching and learning about the career I am sure that an athletic trainer is the right career for me.…

Doctors are always narrowed down to one specific field. This is determined during their schooling. To become a doctor you need to attend at least eight years of college. Four of those years are to receive your Bachelor’s degree. During those four years you take all of your core classes, which include a lot of psychology and philosophy and about three levels of many different sciences. After you graduate you then have to apply to medical school. This is often an entirely different college. You take in depth courses on each branch of medicine, which normally takes about four more years. These courses involve a lot of memorization of every common and uncommon illness and their symptoms. After their final four years, they get their experience in a…

"Apurva! Hurry up, let's go, stop playing around!" After Sunday school it was customary for the youth group to do community service together, however I never really liked to participate, instead I preferred to play basketball. While everyone was assigned a specific task on a weekly basis, I was never the person who cared about what I did. They would call me from where they were working, to get my attention. I heard them and chose to ignore them, because I figured that playing basketball would be more fun. However, It had never occurred to me that maybe I was not doing what I needed to do as someone my age or was not as involved as my peers. This changed when one of my friends approached me and told me that if I love to play sports, and I’m good with the younger teens. Which gave me an idea to start organizing youth sport…
