Why I Want To Get Away Essay

When I was a small kid I used to get very excited to see people dressing up in different costumes and coming to our house and going to everyone else’s house in the neighborhood to collect candies. I dreamed of doing the same when I grew up a little big “dressing up in my favorite cartoon character costume and going to everyone’s house in the neighborhood to collect tons of candies that I could eat for a lot of days. But boy I was in for a big disappointment when my parents said NO WE ARE MUSLIMS AND WE DON’T CELEBERATE HALLOWEEN. They used to give me a lot of reasons for that, which my small brain would not understand and I would be very unhappy and sad and cry a lot to make them at least buy candies for me. To make up for that my parents used to buy me a lot of presents and candies
As an 11 year old now, I understand a lot of what my parents used to tell me when I was a little kid and I now feel that we as Muslims should not celebrate Halloween and here are my reasons for that
Number one, Halloween has Pagan and Christian roots and involves celebration of superstition, black magic, and devil worship. As Muslims we only believe in Allah (SWT) and pray to HIM. Celebrating Halloween would mean praying to Shaytan, which we absolutely cannot do. Also praying to anyone else but Allah (SWT) would be like doing shirk for which Allah (SWT) will never forgive us.
Number two, we are pleading and tricking people for candy. Our Prophet Mohammad (SAW) absolutely did not like begging and advised people to not do that. So going trick or treating means that you are doing something, which our Prophet Mohammad (SAW) did not like. So we should not do any such activities that would make us bad
