I’m looking forward to acquiring new skills and strategies to apply, not only in my pursuit of higher education, but in every aspect of my life. I’ve always been an avid learner, ready to soak up information and knowledge every chance I get. Learning new things has been a major interest of mine for as long as I can remember, which is saying allot, because I actually have a few memories from when I was a toddler. Throughout my early years in school, I was a straight A student who picked up on everything right away. My love of acquiring and sharing knowledge continues to grow as time passes.…
Those in the healthcare profession are respected, hardworking individuals who went above and beyond to prove themselves capable of helping others in the greatest way possible. My career goals are very straightforward. I’ve taken several steps in high school to accomplish these goals by being well disciplined in my studies, and participating in a Health Careers Internship Program. This program offers me a variety of opportunities that make me a more applicable in a healthcare setting. I’ve learned how to build a strong résumé and cover letter, and how do professional interviews well. We also get the chance to observe and participate in a medical environment. I’ll be shadowing with Dr. Steve Carr at Northern Star Therapy and learn the basics of physical therapy. I’ve done also done volunteer work in a Geriatric setting, at the St. Benedict nursing home in St. Cloud. My plans following high school are to attend the University of Minnesota in the College of Biological Sciences. My hopes are to complete my undergraduate in there in the Pre-Medicine program, attend graduate school, and specialize in a currently undecided field of…
Surgical Physician’s Assistant is my number one career choice. Educators are constantly looking for ways to improve. (or constantly research their specific field of study). The Department of Safety and Security draft policies that prevent harm to their constituents.…

There are many reasons that I decided to begin the journey of becoming a Certified Medical Assistant. For instance, one reason I chose medical assisting is because there are so many available career opportunities and options available for career advancement within the medical field. I believe becoming a Certified Medical Assistant will be a very rewarding career choice for me in the long run. I have always had a thriving passion for working within the medical field and have also always absolutely adored being helpful and assisting others in need.…
In all reality, few things move faster than a million miles per hour, but, for a student approaching the end of high school, life seems to accelerate even past that. The daunting challenge presented by the “real world” is one that every young person will encounter; in facing it, they make decisions that will shape the rest of their lives whether for better or for worse. Choosing a career or a field that pikes interest is one of the most important facets of a successful and happy future, family and general medical practice and Law are two careers that I have researched and found to be most consistent with my personality and passions, through my research…
As the role of the medical assistant, I would want to comfort the patient and answer any questions that he/she may have. In this case the patient is feeling abandoned, so I will explain that we were letting him/her rest and fully awaken before we let anyone in to see him/her. I would also let the patient know that his/her health is important and that the doctor will be in shortly to explain more. Also that the doctor will help him/her understand what he/she went through before he let the family into explain to them how they can help with intestinal cancer.…

The journey to medical school has by no means been an effortless one. Choosing the non-traditional route to complete my studies has not only equipped me with the maturity necessary to excel in medical school, but also the knowledge required to overcome the challenges I may encounter during my journey. Upon completing my undergraduate studies at FSU, I subsequently went on to complete additional post baccalaureate science courses at both Miami Dade College and Florida International University. Also, I have recently completed my Masters degree in Biomedical Science at Barry University. During my undergraduate and graduate years, I maintained full time employment, which has taught me the art of time management; a trait I believe will be essential to my success while in…
My clinical experiences, extracurricular activities, and working hard during my years in college to attain an excellent grade point average reflects my passion and abilities to succeed in medical school. As well as the skills that I acquired during the past years will help me improve and excel in the medical…
My initial motivation was to study medicine. However, this novelty of an idea wore off as I have learned that the road to success and pursuit of happiness in life is not necessarily a straight one. This has encouraged me to follow my heart no matter how daunting the journey can be. William James once said “the greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being has the power to alter his life by his attitude”. It is deeply rooted in this philosophy that I desire to become a physician assistant (PA) where I hope to provide quality healthcare to the underprivileged, an area of medicine, which I have noticed to be dramatically underserved.…
I have recently enrolled into the Associates of Applied Science in Medical Assisting (AASMA) program at Kaplan University. Since I have been enrolled in this program, I have learned a lot about my profession, the courses that I have to take and the skills I need to be a medical assistant. In this paper I will discuss the overview of my profession, education requirements, current issues relevant to healthcare, personality traits and my future career goals.…
“To me the distinguishing characteristic of professional nursing is clinical thinking, every patient, whether well, getting sick, being sick or getting well has the right to a nurse who by virtue of this clinical thinking, manages the nursing care and is accountable for that care.” It would be a blessing to be a student of a prestigious program that was founded by the honorable late Ms. Dorothy M. Smith. Her aspiration and dedication to the program to feed and educate hungry minds is phenomenal. Being a former biology major, I was never enthusiastic as I am being a nursing major. Nurses are the glue that holds hospitals, clinics and nursing homes together. Desiring a Bachelor of Sciences in nursing, I plan to hold a position as a RN. Furthermore, I will continue my education to gain a doctorate in nursing. Attending University of Florida’s nursing program to achieve my career goals is a dream of an aspiring nurse. With the University of Florida’s academic standing, student involvement, comfortable environment and cheerful staff, being a part of the program is a beneficial plus. Entering college, my goal was to graduate with a Bachelor in biology and then attend medical school, to pursue a career as a pediatrician. However, a few complications arouse and that goal was short-lived. I am always told; never give up, on yourself and your dreams. Itching for the need to stay in the medical field, I decided on nursing. Deciding to get both my bachelors and masters rather than only my bachelor was the best decision I made. I decided on becoming a Neonatal Nurse Practioner. My career goal will not be achieved easily. It is a guaranteed package of gray hair, sweat, stress, gallons of Starbucks and dreams of my bed. I can be certain that I will be pushed to my limit to become the best nurse I am capable of being so that I am able to care for my patients the best way that I can. Previously having attended University of Florida, there was not a day I regretted saying yes to…
I have always been the type of person to put my best efforts first, especially when it comes to helping other people. Since always feeling the need to help other people, I plan to pursue a career in healthcare and I dream of becoming a registered nurse to fulfill my desires to help people. Currently, I am striving to finish my prerequisite before I apply to Cecil's nursing program in the fall of 2017. During nursing school, I plan to continue working in the hospital environment of Upper Chesapeake Medical Center to be involved in a healthcare atmosphere. I find that being at the hospital provides myself with inspiration to excel in my academics. I take my current classes seriously since they are required and necessary to improve my knowledge…
Attending medical school was my lifelong dream, but attending the University of Maryland School of Medicine has been so important that that I have been preparing for it since I started going to college. Getting in to medical school requires an outstanding academic excellence and other extracurricular activities, and I as well as other premedical students work very hard to attend one, but many of us do not know what the life of a particular medical student looks like. Medical students undergo the most rigorous and exhaustive educational training for as long as 10 years.…
