Why Is African Wild Dog Endangered
The African wild dog is endangered and alone. Do you think these should be fine out in the wild? Did you think they have enough food? Well think again, the wild dog is very endangered. There is so much bigger and stronger competition for food, so that it is hard to catch. So to survive they have to try to take down some of the top predators in Africa. Including the mighty Lion and other big animals that would crush them to bits and pieces. Sometimes, or I should say most times they will try to hunt in packs to make it easier but against a full grown male trying to protect his cubs yeah nice try but they are way to protective of the young that it is to hard even to get a hold of a cub without fighting a much bigger lion. That is why wild dogs need help to get food. Also they are a lot smaller than your average dog, but they do have huge ears and can hear you coming and might put up a tiny competition of the mighty lion. Sometimes they can’t survive horrible injuries, and they would most likely die from that injury. …show more content…
According to Mr. Harvey, another reason they are so endangered is because “ Human pick them off one by one for fun” (Harvey). If there would be less human wild dog poaching than life in Africa would be so much cooler and we could learn a little bit more about them than we already do. If we learn about them than maybe we could have them as a pet or something. Anything but, shooting them or injuring them and leaving them there helpless and most likely to die (Wild Dog Rescue). Helping animals is the number one priority for the World Wildlife Fund so they can save our animals in

In the, “Exotic Animals Belong in the Wild,” essay, the author made a good, persuasive case. They used a lot of evidence to back up their case, and they also included a lot of details. It is quite clear that the author does not think people should be able to own exotic pets. First of all, the author included a lot of evidence to back up their case. Essay On Exotic Animals

It is true that not all cases of an exotic pet have a negative outcome and the responsible ownership of these animals can happen. Although, this is not always the case: there are dangers involved in owning an exotic animal. Kukol, Zuzana reports in USA Today, "Dangers from exotic animals are low. On average in the United States, only 3.25 people per year are killed by captive animals." It also claims that most of the animals are not "stolen" from the wild, but born in captivity. Although 3.25 deaths may not be a lot, especially when compared to something like the number of deaths daily from a motor vehicle, it is still too many because these deaths are preventable by leaving animals in their natural habitats. The article "Animals Born in Captivity" says, "Wild animals usually prefer to stay away from people; captive raised animals on the other hand are often too familiar and social with humans. For a wild animal, losing its caution of humans is a bad thing, dangerous for the animal and possibly us." When wild animals encounter humans, many foreign germs and infections spread to both the animals and the humans. Similarly, feeding wild animals may attract more animals into a town or near people, which can easily spread diseases and expose both the animals and the humans to foreign, and potentially deadly, germs and…

Sadly, while the artificial selection of these dogs has resulting in highly effective hunters (or equivalent) they commonly have a shorter life expectancy than their non-pedigree counterparts and, as with the farmed animals, have anatomical abnormalities that result arthritis, back and joint problems, and breathing difficulties, amongst others. For example, Zhang et al. (2009) demonstrated that hip dysplasia in a variety of dog breeds is a direct result of inbreeding within their pedigree…

Have you ever heard the song “If I had a million dollars” by the Bare Naked Ladies? Remember the part where they sing “haven't you ever wanted a monkey?” and thought that owning a monkey would be enjoyable? Sure maybe owning a monkey for a little while would be pretty cool, but what about the long term effects? I used to have a neighbor who owned monkeys so I guess you can say I got the benefits of owning a monkey without the hassle that comes with it, but I know by experience the difficulties of taking care of them and what it can lead to. Exotic animals should not be owned as pets because it can be dangerous for the animals, dangerous for humans, and it is against the law in most of the US. If you can all recall the incident that happened back in October of 2011 in Zanesville Ohio (which happens to be my hometown) where 56 animals were let lose, and all damages that were caused. Zanesville is very close to us which is all the better reason for us all to agree that exotic animals should not be kept as pets.…
