Why Is Bill Clinton A Good President
William Jefferson Clinton also known as “Bill” our 42nd president was a very good president for the most part. He was not a good president just because there was a surplus in the economy at the end of his eight year term but he kept the peace during his term. Though I was not around for much of his term I think he did a pretty good job at what he did. Clinton got many people interested in voting for him when he started talking about a family man in office. The people wanted a better economy so that was his ultimate goal to give the people what they want.
Bill was originally from Hope, Arkansas and grew up in Little Rock with his family. Bill was born on August 19, 1946 and is now 70 years old. Bills father died in a car crash a few months before

His main reasoning for this was so that just about anyone wealthy or non-wealthy could afford health care. The reformation of welfare was also another big thing he did so that the people who did not need welfare would not just keep taking advantage of it. So Clinton signed a bill that placed limits on how long people could receive benefits and who could qualify for those benefits. He also lifted economic sanctions against South Africa when it’s government ended the policy of apartheid. In 1999 the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) orders air strikes against Yugoslavia with the bombing of Serbian military positions in the Yugoslav province of Kosovo and the Serbians began “ethnic cleansing”. In 1993 Clinton signed North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) into a law and U.S., Canada, and Mexico entered a free trade zone agreement. The agreement went into effect in 1994. While he was in office we also had full diplomatic relations with vietnam. Newt Gingrich disliked many of Clinton's policies and issued a contract with America that included items that would be enacted if the Republicans won control in the 1994 midterm election. One thing Bill Clinton was known for is that he balanced the budget and kept the country out of debt. He also did some other things like made more than 22 million new jobs, highest homeownership in American history, lowest crime rate in 26 years, enacted most sweeping gun safety legislation in a generation, lowest poverty rate in 20 years. Overall Bill was a very good president until one day he was questioned under oath about having an improper relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky and he lied. The required amount of votes failed to convict Clinton in the Senate

Franklin Delano Roosevelt is easily the best president of his era. He had the single best approach to the economic problems and social problems that followed the economic problems of the time. Many people would say that he couldn’t make decisions for himself because of how he was constantly changing his ideas but in truth, his plan was to do whatever it took to work and he was going to make something work. In case it was not known, FDR was a fighter. He never gave up on the USA or stepped down even after being stricken by polio. A lot of his ideas came from his “brain trust” which was comprised of many advisors of all different back rounds and political beliefs. He was constantly keeping the American people informed with the state of the government and economy through a new invention popularly known as the radio. He would go out of his way to help the banks and would do anything to dig the US out of the pit that Hoover had dug and did nothing really to dig them out other than laying the foundation for FDR to bring America back from the brink of complete collapse. Using the foundation laid by Hoover many Administrations, Acts, and even some Corporations were put in place and somewhere welcomed and others weren’t, but FDR took all of the success and failures and made sure it worked out for the American people and the world when WWII came around. His foreign policy in WWII was very much respected and still is today because FDR would not let the crimes of others go unpunished. All in all everything FDR did was for the best of this country and the way he handled WWII both domestically and overseas.…

I believe that George Washington, our very first President, had the biggest of successes. He had to figure out how to run a country. He had no one to look up to. He did everything on his own. Being the first, and not having experience, I think he didn't do that bad of a job. Another one of Washington's successes was that he led the Continental Army. He led the army into victory. Winning a war is a major success. Not only did Washington participate in the war, he led the army who fought and won the war. Washington also faced failures. He had a problem with the Indian tribes in the US. The British began to supply the Indians with arms and ammunition to attack the US settlers. Another failure of Washington was that he always seemed to side more with Hamilton. Not many people liked that idea. Washington also had slaves. Many people disagreed with the idea of slaves but Washington still had them, as our President.…

In his six years as president of the United States, Calvin Coolidge was considered to be a heroic president; not for what he did, but for what he did not do. Therein lies his political genius as Walter Lippmann, a White House advisor for Coolidge in 1926, pointed out: "... his talent for effectively doing nothing. This active inactivity suits the mood and certain needs of the country admirably. It suits all the business interests which wants to be let alone... And it suits all those who have become convinced that government in this country has become dangerously complicated and top heavy.." (Touchman 90).…
