Why Is Chris Mccandless Wrong

Chris McCandless was a man of ideals and experience. Many people may disagree but because Chris followed and read transcendentalist authors and books, he learned his own truth. I agree with the author in how Chris is not wrong, but was reckless enough to not realize it sooner Firstly, Chris disliked assistance and wanted to do things himself. Tramping is too easy with all this money. “My days were more exciting when I was penniless and had to forage around for my next meal...” and “No thanks anyway,…I’ll be fine with what I’ve got.” Although Chris may not realize it, he got food and carpools or hitchhiked from people. He refused other help from people as it was his journey. In the end, Chris realized that he enjoyed their trip and appreciated it. “Happiness is only real when shared.”
“..He’d grown tired of Bullhead, tired of punching a clock, tired of the “plastic people” he worked with, and decided to get the hell out of town.” By moving around, Chris was able to evade authority and his parents. Chris extremely disliked the government because Chris viewed life in a more free way. This is sparked by the relationship Chris had with his parents as his relationship with them and the acts of his father changed his life. Finally, His survival for 100 days taught and showed him his truth and freedom. Chris found happiness away from a controlled society. “I have had a happy life and thank the lord.
