Why Is College Worth The Cost And Time
Today, people are starting to question the value of college. High school students and their parents wonder if it is worth the cost and the time. College does cost a lot and is time consuming but it also prepares students for more than just a job. There are many opportunities to gain from college but is it worth the cost and time? Some high school graduates choose to not have any further education or training at all after high school. They start working for places like a restaurant, clothing stores, or small businesses. Doing this they do not have to spend all kinds of money to go through four years of college. They go to work and start making money. Going to college will not only give someone a higher education but also gives someone life skills to use for the rest of their life (source b). Getting a degree for a job will give someone a higher chance of getting the job. Going to college with also give people the chance to join a variety of social clubs and organizations which look good on job applications. These things show how dedicated and involved this person was in college so they will be dedicated and involved with this job. Not only will having a degree give someone a better chance of getting the job but they will also get paid more than a person without a degree (source d). The higher the degree, the more money a person will make. For example someone with a doctorates in a certain field will make more money than a person with a bachelors in that field. A person with a degree gets more benefits than a person without a degree. It is worth the cost, time, and getting the higher education. Going to college can be such a neat experience as well because people learn more about what they’re interested in and get to be involved in so many things.
