After receiving my degree in dental hygiene, I may decide later in life that I want to go back to school and become a licensed dentist. But first, I would like to be a licensed dental hygienist so I can achieve a stable job and a stable life before I advance on to graduate school.
A dental hygienist typically cleans teeth by brushing them with a powerful cleaning tool and flossing between teeth. There are a variety of things included in a dental hygienist’s daily routine, and I enjoy that fact because it won’t be boring doing the same things over and over again. Dental hygienists take and examine oral X-rays, make impressions of patients’ teeth for studying purposes, and apply sealants to shield teeth. Dental hygienists also recommend oral care routines to patients to ensure that they maintain a healthy mouth.
After attending WVU for four years, I will obtain my Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene, and hopefully use my degree to get a job in a dental office. WVU is a prestigious school with a lot to offer, and I think I will fit perfectly in their student body. Dental care is the pathway in which I would like to follow because I like people, and I would like to provide a service to

They must review each of their patients charts to make sure the correct treatment is given. After that, they clean and set up each room with the necessary tools needed to complete the job. In some cases, x-rays will need to be taken. They then take the x-rays and leave the results for the dentist. My educational plans as of right now is to either start off at a community college and then transfer to Oregon Institute of Technology to go into Oregon Institute Of Technology right after high school. Going into a community college first would save me a lot of money and it wouldn't be a bad place to start off at. I would like to start off at OIT because it seems like the right school for me and I won't have to deal with transferring later. Regardless of where I choose to go I will be working towards getting my bachelors in dental hygiene. Believe it or not, there is more to being a dentist than checking people's teeth. Dentists have an array of responsibilities that require more than a degree from dental school. Of course there is the usual filling of cavities and removal of teeth decay, but dentists require more than that. A long day might include: filling cavities, pulling teeth, repairing teeth, replacing teeth, preventing dental disease, and much more. Dentists actually must not only be very wise and well-educated but they have to be able to communicate with people and be able to be a leader and give directions, especially if they own their own private practice. They must be detail oriented and very well organized. How would you like it if you walked into your dentist and your files were lost and there was equipment everywhere? Dentists must have the patience and physical stamina to withstand long days. They must be at the top of their game for every patient because people's teeth can't afford mistakes. Dentists really have a lot on their plate.…
