Why Is Football Dangerous
Football is a rough and treacherous sport, but it is also a very beneficial sport as well. I personally consider football to be a pointless sport to play because of all the innumerable injures one can acquire. The sport does on the other hand have some good qualities, but they don't entirely make up for all the bad things. People are trying to fight for the banishment of football in high schools. This to me is ridiculous because it isn't their choice whether or not a boy is allowed to play football. Kids have their free agency to choose what they want to do in their lives and know that with their decisions can come consequences. Every boy that enrolls in football knows the various injuries that can encounter and they may not be prepared for it to actually happen to them but, it is still there choice to play. Many tend to only think of the negatives in a situation when they should look at the positives as well. In football everyone needs to contribute in order to play the game which stimulate a sense of accountability in someone. When a player fumbles a ball they realize exactly how much their teammates need you. Also football gives a boy a sense of confidence that he cant really get anywhere else. In 2007 high school and college football there are around 7.23 ‘’catastrophic head’’ injuries per year. This sport is dangerous because it's too brutal. So many kids play football when it's not safe for them. If you play you should at least wear the right material to play. Most kids don't wear anything to protect them against the harmful impacts that happen. ‘’Catastrophic head’’ injuries are an enormous concern in football today. Football is a dangerous game to be a part of even though it's fun to watch and fun to play. With the increase of head injuries the NFL and college programs have been introducing rule changes to prohibit players from returning to the game or to the game if they have received a concussion. I'm against football because it's too dangerous for the people that play the sport.…

Personally, I am a strong supporter of children playing any sport that is offered. With that being said, young lives are too precious to many people for us to lack in safety precautions, especially in a violent contact sport such as football. According to youthsportssafetyalliance.org, there are nearly 3 times as many catastrophic injuries per year in high school football as there are in collegiate level football. This number infers that high school football tends to be more dangerous, and for several reasons.…

When a player has any type of injury(broken arm, sprained ankle, and most commonly a concussion), doctors and pediatricians alike generally tell a kid, “You’ll be fine,” or “You can go back to playing tomorrow.” Now of course they won’t send you a kid out that quickly with a sprained or a broken limb, but more often than not, doctors will let players go back out onto the football field when they think the player has a very mild concussion. This is where the brain disease CTE comes in. Doctors and pediatricians, judging from a statistical standpoint, do not do a thorough job of looking over a players brain. Now, medics don’t have x-ray vision to see what happened, but they generally don’t see the actual problems going on on the field. They might think that the player has only “normal” symptoms, and this is the reason doctors let kids go back to playing football pre-maturely. This is why medical researchers have called high school football a “high risk contact sport.” Unhealthy practices follow when the coaches are pressing their players to try their hardest to basically “crush” or “kill” their opponent. Team physicians are no better, and they are the ones who say they are “taking care of….” the kids on the field. Two kids from the states of Ohio and Texas have died because of premature playing(3).…
