My first reason is that they are usually dishonest. Many advertisements over exaggerate their product and make it seem a lot greater than what it really is. Ways they do this is through celebrities endorsing their product even if they never used it! Photoshop can also be a way they deceive their uniformed consumers, like with make up ads. They sometimes make awful things look great! Alcohol and smoking are often glorified and made to look fun and they don't show the negative side to it so people who are uniformed or unaware of the effects of these things may be tempted to try them out. This is very unethical. Elderly people tend to be the victims of these kind of advertisements. A lot of schemes are made specifically for these people like offering the chance to win a free gift or vacation if you buy the product. Most of us would know that there is almost no chance to win but the people who might my psychologically impaired or just unable to understand would be easily tricked into this.
