I am learning of the rules in medicine, such as HIPPA, which can be summed up as the guidelines for patient information confidentiality. Even more important, I am developing social skills and gaining self-knowledge. After every visit, I feel more comfortable, clear, and efficient interacting with patients and co-workers, as well as finding out what kinds of activities or situations I am comfortable with and which I am not comfortable with. Though there is heavy responsibility on me at the Harris Health System, I believe that I can still hold a part time job outside of it. During the Summer I work at a grocery store. This helps me gain knowledge of how a business is run. Also, I educate myself to make up for the deficiency of the educational system. Very often, I end up reading articles on social issues, for instance. In addition, I am an avid exerciser and eat right. I pride myself by calling myself a healthy individual, not only physically, but also mental, emotional, and …show more content…
For instance, I plan on getting a credit card soon, not to spend money I don’t have, but to start building credit years before most people start. That way, I’ll have a financial advantage. Also, I plan on volunteering at the SPCA, or starting volunteer firefighter training courses, that way, I will be more liked by scholarship organizations, colleges, and have more experience. Furthermore, I am trying to get all the necessities of life in this world ready as soon as possible. For example, I am in the process of getting my driver’s license, however, I still must follow through two more

In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

Genesis 1:27 states that “God created mankind in his own image”. Being great is within us all. We are all given the tools at birth to make something of the gifts that we possess. I am a person that believes anyone can achieve anything they put their minds to, no matter the limitations. Many people often unknowingly limit themselves because they set a ceiling on their potential. Often times, people fall short of greatness not because they aimed too high, but they aimed too low. I have always thought that it was better to set a high goal and to miss, than set a low goal and accomplish it. If you live a life where you are bounded by your limitations, you never truly know how far you could have pushed the envelope and accomplish something. As a result, it is no surprise that those who constantly challenge themselves reach higher peaks than those who are simply satisfied with where they are. Comfort is the enemy of progress. Aristotle is quoted saying that “we are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit”. I think that this thinking should be applied to goal setting as well. Instead of creating a goal, one should create a system to achieve the goal. The difference is that when a goal is attained, there is no progress beyond that. However, when a system is created, you are able to push pass a goal. Getting a college degree is just a product of the system I have created for myself in order to impact that world on a greater…

Now that I know what I want to do I then established how I am going to track my…
