My Goal To Become A Veterinarian Technician
Having goals is a part of everyone’s day to day life. They help you establish what you want to do, where you want to go and how you can achieve it. “Setting goals can be a constructive practice. Whether you are setting career goals, relationships and familial goals, or daily goals, it is pertinent to understand what your objectives are in order to establish goals that you can ultimately attain.” (Oppland, 2015) My goal that I have created for myself is to graduate from college and become a veterinarian technician. I need to spend the time to learn the critical information that I need for my career. I have outlined a plan using the smart goals worksheet to show myself how long it will take me to complete my goal, how I can measure my progress, …show more content…
When you give yourself realistic achievements that you need or want to reach, the process of finishing what you need to do becomes less of a burden and more of an academic adventure that you take. I told myself that I wanted to finish college within two years so that I can obtain my degree and become a veterinarian technician. I am in college because I know that for me to get the critical information needed for the job I want to do I would first have to learn everything I needed to know about the field I want to work in. Now that I know what I want to do I then established how I am going to track my …show more content…
I made my deadline realistic and achievable so that I do not have to feel pressured into rushing to get school work done and start to think that my goal is not achievable any more. By the year 2019 I will finish everything that needs to be done, graduate with a degree and become what I have always wanted to be, a veterinarian technician. It will be a long road ahead and I know that sometimes things will not go as planned or I will bump into some setbacks. If I take the time to review the outlined goal that I have set for myself I can see what needs to be done to get myself back on track and just keep looking ahead to the goal I have given myself. Having goals is a responsibility but it can always be a major milestone once you complete it. I must remember to take it step by step, day by day and to just remind myself that I can do this. “A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.” (Mackay,

Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

What are goals? Goals are an aim or desired result that people devote to accomplish in their lives. Why are goals important to set? Goals are important to set because without goals, we have no purpose or direction in life, and the more goals we make, the more things that we can accomplish in life. When I was younger, I didn’t know how to do a push up, and I wanted to work to get to doing 40 push ups in one year. I started by making small goals, that eventually worked up to me doing 40 push ups right now. One of my new goals that I have made this year is to maintain a 3.75 G.P.A. or higher. My second (long term) goal that I am working hard for, is to have a clean record and to get good grades so I can join the army when I grow up. For this essay, I interviewed two “goals experts”, my mom and my dad to get advice so that I can have a successful year while working towards my long term goal.…
