The main intentions of the LSCBs are –
Step to be taken when there is concern over a child’s welfare or safety. Including interventions.
The welfare and safety of fostered children.
The working together of neighbouring social care services and authorities.
That they are included in the planning of services for children in local areas.
Encourage communication on how to Safeguard children.
Training of those who work with children, or places that may impact the welfare or safety of children.
Employing and management of those working with children, whether voluntary or not.
Inquests into claims against persons working with children.
Establish a line of action to ensure a joint response in the case of a child’s sudden death.
Oversee the success of the safeguarding, and encourage child welfare.
To look into and learn from serious cases. Amend policy where needed.
To gather information and from child deaths and analyse it.
