Did you know that Michael Jackson produced a song that was number one for most listened to for forty weeks?! Michael brought a whole different dimension to the music world, to showing people that being different is cool, and to do what you do not what someone else does. When you join a band at the age of 13 you must be an exceptional musician.
I’ve always heard that Michael Jackson was crucial to the music industry. Why was MJ so important? There are many things that inflict on how he was important. Probably the most relevant was that Michael was known for the different ways Wacko Jacko dressed, his particular dancing (the moonwalk), that he did things his way. He was a strong person and wasn’t afraid of anyone criticizing him. Here’s what Michael said about himself, “I’m happy to be alive, I’m happy to be who I am” (Michael Jackson). This was shown through him in a dramatic way that there was/is even a party called “MJ dance parties” (People loved his dancing). After seven years the “Pop King” decided to pursue his dream of going solo. There are many reasons why Michael Jackson was a popular artist, perhaps the most important reason was that he did things the way he wanted to. “People ask me how I make music. I tell them I just step into it. It’s like stepping into a river and joining the flow.
