Why Is Traditional School Better Than Year Round School

Students are best served in a traditional school system. Just imagine what it would be like to have to go to school in the middle of what would be a traditional year round summer vacation. That is a reality for thousands of kids across the United States. This is why I believe that the traditional school system is more beneficial than a year round system. Year round schools have disruptive schedules, the day amounts end up being the same in year round and traditional school and, year round schools cost more to maintain and run year round. According to huffingtonpost.com “Salt Lake City ended its year round schools system in 2011 after an analysis showed that comparable local schools with a traditional school system had better test scores,” I think this shows us that the traditional school system is actually more beneficial and more reasonable because the students are making more progress and are scoring higher. The final reason I believe that traditional schools are more beneficial is because year round schools cost more to run financially. In a traditional school system schools have all summer to gain back and raise money to support their school when the school starts back up in fall but, year round schools are consistently using their funds. Whether it's over the summer and the school has to pay for the air conditioning or if its transportation year round schools are constantly using up their funds. I feel that the traditional school system is more beneficial to students. I will save the school so much more money. Also, students will score higher on tests because, they won't have to deal with a disruptive schedule.
