Main Characters-Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Gandalf the grey,

“ Ho! Ho! Ho! to the bottle i go to heal my heart and drown my woe, rain may fall and wind may blow, And many miles be still to go, But under a tall tree i will lie, and let the clouds go sailing by.” - Lord of the rings

All Information i have gotten about this book being banned all support the idea of this book being banned for a main character smoking and some different outlook on religion. Personally i think this is a horrible and no good reason to ban a book from schools where children can sit down and enjoy a book meant to show them an adventure. My personal opinion is that the only time a book should be taken away from people is if the

In the book as a previously stated a reason for this book being banned is smoking and according to this article. In plymouth NHS plymouth 40% of the school aged children admitted to smoking. So if it is such a big thing in people life then why rip it from people in a book? It's Stupidity that people want to take things from people then turn around and let them do it.

And in this book there are reference to other religions. And people are getting angry over something so small and little in detail that they think it is a horrible thing for someone to read about another religion’s and only see it one sided. Over all i mean that i find it stupid to believe someone can look at something so one sidedly and only believe what they have read about there religion.

In Conclusion i feel this book should not be banned for something as little as smoking and religion references. I feel for this book to be banned there needs to be a solid reason for people not read this book. like people hurting themselves and hurting others just out of joy from it. That is what i feel should ban a

I’m here to tell you why it shouldn't be banned. One reason why it shouldn't be banned is because kids nowadays hear foul language all the time. Either from their parents or on the television. It’s nothing new to them when they pick up a book and read it. In this book it doesn't display that much of language.…

I think that the censored version of the book shouldn’t be banned because it’s interesting and it shows the actual life of a family in the Holocaust. However, the uncensored version should be banned because it’s disgusting, inappropriate, and it would make most people uncomfortable just by reading it.…

Do books deserve to be banned because of a person's imagination? I don't think so, but there are many people who believe that a book could influence a person. The book, A Bridge To Terabithia has been challenged since 2002. Some people think the book contains Satanism and offensive language. It seems odd that this book is being challenged, since it is considered a children’s book. Since this book is meant for the age group of children that are nine and older, a person might wonder why the author would write a book about Satanism. Out of all the books being banned, many people doesn't believe that this one should even be challenged. There is a valuable message in this book that shows how one can go against stereotypes, stand up against fear, how friendship is can affect one’s health.…

In my opinion, I do not believe that the book should be banned. The book talks about the disappearance of Margo about 99% of the time. The book does talk about sexual content, bad language, and drinking, but Margo is mentioned on every page in the book. Drinking is mentioned in one scene, and language is mentioned more than any of the banned scenes, but sexual content is in only one scene. The book should not be…

Although this novel may offend some parents or kids, others enjoy this novel. If some do not approve they have the option too put it aside and not read it. Adults should not take the fun, adreniline rush, sappiness, etc., away from others. I do think that this novel should be read in High Schools because it shows what it means too be self-sufficient and it also portrays that if you really want soemthing then you have to work for it. This novel is very touching and has a good moral behind it. I think that banning this book is unfair to others. You should be able to read whatever you want, whenever you want. If others are offended they don’t have too read it and cans et it aside and leave it at that. I think that the novel was very interesting, it was also very well written. It made me think about my life more and how well I have it and how much I take it for…

Also I Think that the government shouldn't get involved with this topic. What i mean is that they shouldn’t decide on what we read because it looks bad or graphic. Catching Fire should not be censored because of its “satanic violence “, anti-ethnic, insensitivity and anti-family. Yes this is a war story, so obviously there would be violence, so I understand people saying it’s violent, but saying it is “satanic violent”? Are we talking about president snow and the mutts? The careers attitudes toward the games? Anti-ethnic? The book contains many characters who are ambiguous of race yes, but there are also many that are more distinctly pointed…

Banning books over the years has caused lot of controversy. The Catcher in the Rye. The Scarlet Letter. Huckleberry Finn. Harry Potter. The Diary of Anne Frank. Animal Farm. To Kill a Mockingbird. The Da Vinci Code. The Grapes of Wrath. These literary classics have been vital to the education of many, especially children and adolescents (Banned Books). These great novels both teach important values and educate children about world affairs and classic themes. Unfortunately, each of these novels has been banned at one point in time. In a country where freedom is so adamantly advocated, it is a wonder that an issue like censorship would even come up, that such a controversy would sink its claws into the minds of states’ boards of education across the nation. Censorship is a needless restriction placed on developing minds that need the morals and values that banned books can give.…

Most people would agree it should not be read to elementary school students, but young adults are capable of reading it with respect and maturity. The few scenes which cause controversy are small and insignificant in relation to the scenes with good teachings. The Kite Runner should not be banned because the positive effects of reading it are far greater than the negative ones. Novels like The Kite Runner force readers to gain a greater understanding of the world, and consequently make readers better, more informed people. The banning of books most of the time is a must, but the banning of children's books? May not be what people make it out to be. The book I’ve found most astonishing to find on a banned book list is the very popular Harry Potter series. By examining that this book is a fantasy, Harry is a hero, and that the message has nothing to do with why it was banned, it is clear that Harry Potter should NOT be banned. I have found sources that agree with me, but also show the other side of the story.…
