1. when Curleys wife says they left all the weak ones here I think she is referring to the reality that because of their circumstances; candy, crooks & Lennie were not capable of visiting the whore house like the other men. Curelys wife is suggesting that they are weaker because of their incapacity to take part in some of the activities other men can.…
There is no solid reason for marijuana to be illegal. The risks and dangers of taking it are about the same as the risks of drinking alcohol of smoking tobacco, both which are legal for adults. Furthermore, making it illegal is ineffective at stopping minors from taking the drug, and makes the drug more dangerous because it cannot be regulated. Legal marijuana would be less dangerous because it would have to conform to safety standards, and have warnings to keep people informed, like cigarettes do. If society can change their views on alcohol, they can change their views on marijuana.…
In my opinion, marijuana should be legalized. I say this because of the positive effects that marijuana has on the body. According to (Malik Burnett) there is no evidence suggesting that the ingredients in marijuana have neurotoxic effects. This suggests…
What many people do not understand about marijuana is that it is a safe drug and not all drugs are bad drugs. “Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose.” (NORML, 2015). Marijuana comes in third behind alcohol and tobacco as the most popular recreational drugs. There has never been a death due to marijuana due to the fact that is is nearly impossible to overdose and it is “nontoxic”. It is very confusing to many people as to why this drug is illegal when looking at how safe it is compared to things like alcohol and tobacco…
First of all, marijuana should not be legalized because of the physical effects. The use of marijuana affects the person by causing “impairment of short-term memory, logical thinking, hallucinations, energy loss, toxic effect on brain nerve cells, risk of chronic bronchitis, impaired immune system, and etc”. Because of these of effects many people should know why they shouldn’t smoke marijuana. And by not legalizing marijuana many people don’t have to worry about these effects.…
Our side has a concession. Marijuana is not an awful drug. Comparatively, it has few bad effects on the human body, and in some cases, admittedly, it can be medically useful or socially acceptable. However, it's not something that should be legalised.…
Drugs have become one of the most controversial topics in the world. Some specific drugs are more frowned upon such as Marijuana. Marijuana is a plant in which its official name is “Cannabis”. Over the years this plant has become increasingly popular to people who don’t usually convert to traditional methods to relieve the stress of a hard day. “The National Drug Threat Assessment states that over 25.8 million individuals 12 years of age and older have smoked marijuana at least once in their life.” The rate has remained the same since 2008. The government labels these statistics as too high as they fight to keep one of the most contentious substances off the market. In 1970, Congress passed The Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act .…
Marijuana is the growing topic in Americans daily lives; shockingly people are blind to realize that this substance will probably be one of the deadliest drugs in the next decade. “History repeats itself” a wise man once said, and this isn’t the first time or the last time America will use the excuses to make illegal substances that kill. The generations of the 20th century where blind and medically illiterate to the dangers of cigarettes in fact they believed it was health approved. Only a few decades later people started to realize the demons of smoking and plagued America with 5 million deaths a year ever since.…
I don't understand why cannabis is still illegal in this country. To this day, I have not heard an intelligent argument against the legalization and regulation of cannabis. There is so much negative controversy that we get from supports. The fact is, many people would outlaw fast food, cigarettes, and tanning beds because of the harm that they cause America. But this is America and there is about their freedom and this is about their choice. Give the people in our states the choice to enjoy…
cover Legalizing Marijuana would be a benefit to society. We as a nation would be improved by it. There are several reasons I make this claim. Although Pot has it's problems, it's benefits for outweigh it's consequences.…

Marijuana has been used recreationally as well as medicinally for thousands of years. The earliest evidence of inhalation of marijuana, a small pile of charred cannabis/seeds, was found in Romania and believed to be dated prior to the 3rd millennia BCE. Marijuana use is considered to be beneficial to some, however has been controversially classified as a schedule 1 controlled substance, making it as illegal as heroin, politicians claim it to be more dangerous than cocaine, with little to no factual basis. Based upon my personal use of medical marijuana, I have seen more positive than negative effects, and believe it should be decriminalized so as to ease the pain, suffering, anxiety,…
There are many reasons why marijuana should not be legalized in the United States. The nation should fight to reduce marijuana use to improve the country’s health, education, and productivity.…
Marijuana also known as cannabis sativa has been falsely criticized since the beginning of the century. The fact is that the legalization of marijuana can have positive effects. Marijuana has been proven to be less likely to create crime, it can be used as a medicine, and isn't any more harmful than most other legal substances on the market. It's hard to understand why it is illegal. Legalizing marijuana would reduce the numbers in our prisons, help the country's Ill citizens, and make money for the government by taxing the plant.…
There are many different drugs out in the world, but marijuana seems to be a favoured one to talk about. Legalizing the drug is the main topic people discus and there seems to be a lot of people rooting for marijuana to be aloud. See the problem with there arguments is that they all have the same ones. Some say its good for you and that's why doctors prescribe it, some say that its better than cigarettes and they are legal, and this is the one I hear all the time is that people do it any way. United States President Barrack Obama gives his thoughts on the discussion, “the answer is, no, I don't think that is a good strategy to grow our economy," (White House Online Obamas Buzz Killer 573600). I agree with Obama and I have some issues to discus on the situation. Some people actually believe that legalizing marijuana will help boost our economy and it will create more job opportunities. There are endless arguments debating the economical issues, health issues, crime issues , and addiction issues on marijuana. One thing I think people forget when doing drugs is that it effects your work life along with other aspects. Finding jobs can be hard for drug abusers because that’s not what companies look for, and believe me, quite a few people make it very easy to discover the truth. “A study of 1,150 hiring managers by Careerbuilder.com found 26 percent of managers admitted to using search engines such as Google and 12 percent of managers said they used social networking sites like Facebook.com in their hiring process.” (Job Hunters Hire Experts to Clean Up Online Image). It is quite easy to spot out drug users, especially if you know the person well. You can find it on facebook but also by some signs that include dropping grades, loss of interest of something, mood swings, a sudden influence of a new bunch of friends, withdrawal, red eyes, weight loss, fatigue or hyperactivity and many more. If you notice many of these signs in someone they may be under the influence of…
