Smaller problems could include completely homework for a class where you do not understand the subject or topic at the moment. While other problems are much more complicated than that, for instance slaves. The slaves in the United States struggled everyday through hard labor and poor measurements of food provided, but they were able to persevere and make an escape for freedom. Included in many pieces of literature, perseverance is the author’s main purpose of their passages. Temple Grandin for example, suffered from autism but yet she used that to her advantage. Her love of cattle and the device that holds them, that she then made for herself, helped her change the entire cattle slaughter industry. Temple Grandin is a girl who has autism who does not like being held. Her brain can recall to any image or paper she has ever seen and visual she is an outstanding thinker. After a summer at her aunt’s house helping out cattle, she discovered that the machine that calms the cattle can do the same for her when she is anxious without the human touch of a hug. From that one summer lead to her designing a completely peaceful and less harming route for the cattle to take in the slaughter industry. “A door opened and I went through it”. Many times in life, opportunities present themselves. Some of them may even be extremely difficult and at times seem impossible to overcome. But turning that fear into perseverance can lead to unimaginable accomplishments in life. “Nature is cruel but we don’t have to be”. In life situations are thrown at us that is never expected to happen. It is a choice to persevere those situations; whether to pass those obstacles or stay behind while others move forward and become stronger from it. The Clever Class is specifically one chapter out of a whole book written by Malala. The book itself talks about all the difficult times Malala has gone through in her country and what her country still struggles on.
