By wearing a seatbelt one increases his chance survival and chances to be less injured in a car accident. Seatbelts, when properly worn, prevent one’s body from traveling at the same speed the car is upon impact in an accident. Without seatbelts the chances of being injured and surviving a car crash are less likely. The most important decision someone can make each day is to fasten one’s seat belt. An Internet article found on The National Highway Traffic Safety webpage titled Traffic Safety Facts, concludes that in 2015 in traffic fatalities a majority of them were killed from not wearing a seatbelt (Occupant Protection in Passenger Vehicles).
