Why Should Anne Frank Be Considered A Hero?
Anne Frank, quite a famous name with a lot of emotion behind it. She was alive during one of the worst genocides in our history. Yet why is SHE considered a hero? Why not the soldiers who fought against the Nazis, or those who risked their lives for people who were being killed. Anne may have written words of hope and optimistic thoughts, but no one was saved just on those words.

Anne Frank wrote what she believed in and what she thought to be right. The young Jewish girl never showed these words to anyone. Only after the Holocaust had ended had the eyes of others finally hit the story of the Franks. Yet no one was actually saved by those words, sure people who had lived through it all may have found it emotional, but no one thanked the writing for saving their lives. Its odd to call someone a hero when all they did was write words down in a diary. She kept it secret and used it to "vent" because she didn't wish to talk to others about it, but I bet all those who were with her would of liked that. They all probably felt the same, yet they had no way of venting like she did.

She had no way of saving them, and didn't even attempt to. What kind of "hero" can't even save those they love and care for? For instance, she died with her sister. Sure she did sit by her side until her demise. Yet, all that did was get her killed, she could of pushed on in the name of her sister but didn't. Being devastated and hurt over the death of a family member is understandable, but they would never wish the same fate upon those who they love. So why let it happen? Why not push on and carry her name

Heroes are people who are admired for their courage and achievements. A hero can be a woman or man, and heroes come in many different shapes and sizes. In the text From My Hero: Extraordinary People on the Heroes Who Inspire Them it says “So we need to be very careful of those we put on a pedestal, and choose only those who embody those qualities that reflect the very best of human nature. But even that is a dangerous game. What do we do with a hero who has done something less than heroic?” I think that this quotes means that we put many heroes on a pedestal who haven’t done things of great courage. For example, my hero would be Harriet Tubman she was an African American woman who helped free enslaved people. Harriet Tubman is a well know individual…

She made it through on her own, but what makes her different from the rest of the children that died in the Holocaust? She was more victim than hero. She stayed in an attic for two years, hiding from the Nazi’s (Biography.com Editors). To be a hero she could have risked her life to help fellow Jews from being taken away with the Gestapo. She could have helped the resistance. But she stayed in the attic. Now…
