Most people argue that death penalty (capital punishment) is not a form of unusual punishment. However, others say this (death penalty) is extremely, accurate. Unlike a life imprisonment, death offers no second chance. If new evidence surfaces after the person have been executed, then it is too late to do anything about it. The death penalty doesn’t save tax payers any money. Unarguable; criminals need to be punished for the lasting harm that they have caused society. But the severity of the punishment has its limits too.
There are many reasons why some people think that death penalty is unfair and unacceptable. Many people believe that death penalty is not enough punishment for a criminal that has taken someone’s life. Some feel that the death penalty is the easiest way out for criminals, it is considered a lesser punishment than others who was sentenced for life and it is lesser suffering. It offers the tragic illusion that we can defend life by taking life. The death penalty was inflicted on the culprits indulged in practice of a different religion, premarital sex, homosexual behavior, prostitutes, rebellious teenagers, and blasphemy. Capital Punishment is itself a premeditated murder. This is unacceptable even it is inflicted by state authority as it lowers the value of life. Everyone thinks human life is valuable. Some of those against capital punishment believe that human life is so valuable that even the worst murderers should not be deprived of the value of their lives.
They believe that the value of the offender's life cannot be destroyed by the offender's bad conduct - even if they have killed someone. Some people’s theory is that death penalty is against religion; they think this is the same as murder.
