In France and Italy parents serve their young children and teens small amounts of wine at family meals to teach their children about alcohol (Griggs, Brandon). This helps prevent the teens from going and binge drinking with their friends and away from their parent’s supervision (Griggs, Brandon). Some countries such as Belgium, Denmark, and Germany allow sixteen year olds to buy beer and wine (Griggs, Brandon). The legal drinking age should be lowered because at age eighteen you become an adult and you should take on adult responsibilities (Should the Drinking). Adults should have the right to make their own decisions about what they want to do and what they can drink (Should the Drinking). If you can buy and smoke cigarettes, which is harmful to your body at the age of eighteen, eighteen year olds should be able to make the decision about drinking alcohol. In other countries that the legal drinking age is
