Why The Twin Towers Collapse?
September 11, 2001 was one of the worst terrorist attack committed in the United States. The Twin Towers were demolished killing over 400 people and wounding countless others. Attempts were made on the Pentagon (in which people died) and the White House. One will list and explain at least four reasons the NIST report lists as being the reasons the Twin Towers collapsed.
Two 767 aircrafts were high jacked and crashed into the North Tower and the South Tower. The impacts set in place the destruction of those two buildings. According to Brannigan and Corbett (2015), The NIST stated the factors that caused the collapse in Tower 1 was:
The plane inflicted structural damage
Jet fuel sprayed on the interior, starting fires on multiple floors.
