Why We Should Grant Amnesty To Illegal Immigrants

Eleven million people. The unbelievable number of illegal immigrants living in the United States that will be sent back over the border. All of these people have come over for a better opportunity at life and jobs. Yet, some people twist the reason around and say it is bad that these immigrants come and they believe they are ‘taking over our country”. Most of these people against immigration are Republicans in the House of Representatives. They propose that kicking them out will solve our immigration problems. However, a better solution is to grant limited amnesty to illegal immigrants.
What is amnesty? Amnesty is a general pardon for anyone who has committed any crime against the government. The offence these immigrants have committed is entering illegally into the country and remaining here.
The first reason why we should grant amnesty to illegal immigrants is to help their families. Some of these immigrants work in the United States and send money back home. Others brought their families to the United States to give them a chance of a good education that will help them in the future to have a good life. Not only will it allow many people who committed a crime to remain here, but it will also encourage more illegal immigrants to enter the country. This is a serious national security issue because terrorists could be among those who come into the United States. It is clear that with our current immigration laws and processes, this could eventually, if not already, happen.
