Why Zeus 'Feared In Prometheus'

Zeus had no real reason why he had fear Prometheus’s creation man, In the story Prometheus gives fire to man it said, “Zeus feared what men would do if they had fire. He had a low regard for them and really wanted to destroy them” ( paragraph 3 lines 1-2). In the story it never explained why zeus had a real reason on why he feared men, fear of what they might do, or even would want to resort to violence when men have done nothing to him without Zeus even giving them a shot at using his fire for good. Prometheus even points out a good point that without Zeus’s fire, man would have not survived, “Prometheus pleaded for the race of men, pointing out that earth was getting colder, entering an ice age, and no longer radiating warmth as in the age
of gold. Without fire men would perish” (paragraphs 6 lines 3-6). Prometheus was even using the fire for good not to harm anything other than to teach the men he created how to build and craft with this to advance the created he made. With prometheus being the gentle giant, he wanted to keep the peace but as man’s creator and benefactor, he knew his creation would never advance without fire. For example, “ Prometheus showed them how to make a hearth to hold the fire and then how to build huts arounds the hearth” (paragraphs 4 lines 2-4). This shows how Prometheus used fire for good, not for destruction by teaching them how to build homes and by using the fire he stole to use it to keep the men warm when the earth was getting too cold for men to live in so with fire they can keep warm and survive the cold times.
