a) Background of the Study Ever since man utilized various species of plants for food, clothing, as medicines, fibers and other useful things. In fact, the interaction of man and the plants led to the establishment of the so-called traditional knowledge. One should look into the potential impact of the plant which are generally rich sources of many natural products, and its ecological environment and the manner on how it could be utilized for significant use for human welfare. The biology of sunflower plant scientifically named as Helianthus annuus, and locally known as weeds in the wild, as such, the named is wild sunflower usually grow in open spaces, and spread abundantly growing in the crop fields, forest and roadsides. Since it is a weed, they are unwanted because they are unsightly, or because they limit the growth of other plants by blocking light or using up nutrients from the soil (Ediriweera, 2007). More importantly, they can grow all types of weather conditions and the whole plant especially the stem could be very useful in the making of fibers, and the leaves are potential medicine for treating skin diseases and various ailments. It is an annual plant, herb, with yellow rays flower and prefers lighter soils and also grows on clay soils. They have many cultivars and are grown as a seed and oil crop, as ornamental garden flowers and as food plant to some birds. Fibers are class as natural produced from plants, animals, and geological processes. Those that are based on arrangements of cellulose, are often with lignin which include the

cotton, hemp, jute, ramie and bagasse are vegetable fibers; while those from tree sources are the wood fibers and those consists largely of specific proteins are from animal fibers. According to the World Health Organization, that plants identified with medicinal value would be the best source to obtain a variety of drugs, and currently characterize with antimicrobial principles.
