In the essay, the writer talks not only why clutter is such a big problem, but he also informs how we can try and correct this mistake. He states that clutter is the main reason and the number one problem why writers struggle so much. He uses well written examples that are clear and easy to understand. So therefore, it proves simplicity is there to help anyone who reads it understandable. The author reveals the importance of simplicity that every good writer should keep in their head.
The main example in this essay that I liked was that he did not use big words that are straight from the dictionary that no one would know. The author explains that the skill of good writing is to strip the sentence of all unnecessary words. He proves this in his essay by giving an example when President Franklin D. Roosevelt made a very unclear and confusing memo, into something so short and understandable.
I believe that there are too many other options, such as clutter, that lead people to stray away from reading. This is a big factor for me as well. I found it was interesting that he included other authors considerations and opinions. It is important that if people have cluttered minds when they write, it will result in a cluttered writing. From now on when I write, I will try and clear everything out of my mind to make a more simple and well written
