Company: Maruthi Suzuki India Limited
Company Background:
Maruthi Suzuki India Limited (MSIL formerly known as Maruthi Udyog Limited) is a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan. MSIL has been the leader of Indian car market for over two and half Decades. The company has two plants located one at Gurgaon and Manesar, south part of New Delhi, India. Both the facilities have a combined capability to produce over 1.5 million (1500, 000) vehicles annually. And planning to expand more.
SZIL is the first company to introduce the Factory fitted CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) vehicle. In terms of number of cars produced and sold, the company is the largest subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation. The company has produced over 10 million (10,000,000) vehicles since its inception. And is only company has crossed 10 million sales till 2012. The company holds over 9000 employees. The company has been rated first in customer satisfaction in JD survey for 12 consecutive years. Besides serving the Indian market, Maruthi Suzuki also exports cars to several countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Oceania.
Issue at MANESAR plant:
Motivation places a vital role in an any organization. Here I this case the main problem occurred due to the lack of motivation to the employees. This problem occurred due to reinstatement of an worker who had suspended for beating up a supervisor. The company has made a mistake due to lack of proper communication with the worker unions and management. And the workers were also made an mistake of destroying the plant rather communicating with the company management, finally they have lost their employment due to the lack of motivation among them.

    Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) was established in Feb 1981 through an Act of Parliament, to meet the growing demand of a personal mode of transport caused by the lack of an efficient public transport system. It was established with the objectives of - modernizing the Indian automobile industry, producing fuel efficient vehicles to conserve scarce resources and producing indigenous utility cars for the growing needs of the Indian population.
