Although the position of a woman in society today has improved, there is still a great deal of sexual discrimination. Do you agree?
Discrimination of a woman in society is still remarkable in spite of the fact that there are organizations against woman discrimination. This issue is common in different countries especially in the United States of America and in Sweden. How could we Identify discrimination of a woman? Is it by nature that a woman is differing than a man?
Firstly, we consider discrimination if both sexes, man and woman works at the same job, position and task, but different wages of salary. In the United States of America, women complain their wages gap which is less than a man. Women in all occupations suffer from the career wage gap. They say that women in America lose hundreds of dollars from career wage gap. Women who work year-round still earn less than men in comparable jobs and at all educational levels. (http://www.americanprogressaction.org/ life time wages). The statistic in USA shows that women with a college degree or higher lose 713,000 dollar over a 40 year period versus a 270,000 dollar for those women who did not finish high school. It is the same issue in Sweden, as I heard from the news last june 15, 2013 in daily news. The report says that there is a wages gap between men and women who works as a director (chef). Women have less salary about 5,000 kr differences than men. This is obviously a woman’s discrimination. It is unfair for women to have the same job but less paid. I suggest that women should have the same salary as man, because both do the same job and there is no difference between them. Secondly, some women are more intelligent than men. If we look at the statistic who is more successful both in career and business, women are leading among of them, but still a great deal of sexual
