Who We Are
When a boy is born with he is ”faced” with problems.The main character in Wonder is August Pullman. This book was written by R.J. Palacio. August is a boy with a facial deformity, is also called Auggie. Wonder is mostly about who we are on the inside. People may judge you negatively, but it doesn’t change who you are on the inside. In Part Seven¨Miranda” pg:243 Miranda states at the bottom of the page, “That's when I saw Auggie walking down the aisle with Isabel and Nate… He had grown up a little bit since I’d last seen him, almost a year ago. His hair was shorter, and he was wearing some kind of hearing aid now. His face hadn't changed a bit.”.She sees him as almost the same before. August had very few friends, but he was happy with his friend. His self- esteem never went down but when he feared that he was different than other people he felt as he was being left out. When getting a tour of the school August asked “ Um. What exactly is homeroom? Is that like a subject” on pg:25, this shows how his mother in a way, could not have taught him these things and that’s why he is at Bbeecher prep.

His friends are the characters who change the most. At first, they feel awkward around him and don’t care about him. On pg:27 Auggie is taking the tour with Jack, Julian, and Charlotte,who all talk to each other and barely talk to Auggie, “Charlotte basically didn’t stop talking as we headed down the second floor. She was describing the play hey had put ion the last year , which was Oliver!She played Oliver even though she's a girl.At the other end of the room was a stage.
