To begin, Florida known as “the sunshine state” hooks you in as soon as you enter the state. The beautiful palm trees blowing in the wind, the numerous orange groves you see from the roadside and the welcome center offering fresh squeezed orange juice makes you feel so at home. There are so many beautiful exotic looking flowers in the landscaping of homes and businesses. Of course, the warmer climate is the main attraction in Florida. The annual average high is 79F degrees and the average low is 57F degrees. Snow rarely falls in most of Florida, but has on occasion in the northern peninsula. In addition, Florida is located between the Atlantic Ocean and The Gulf of Mexico, therefore it also has exceptionally high humidity and of course there is always a chance of hurricanes as well. Undoubtedly, both of these items are a major downfall to me.…

As a kid, I used to go to my room for alone time, but gradually over time, I have discovered that I love nature and its beauty. Currently, I enjoy going to Canyon Lake for alone time because it allows me to escape from my everyday troubles and a sense of security is felt when I go there. I try to go to Canyon Lake about once or twice a month, so I can de-stress and be prepared for what life has to throw at me next. Many people just see Canyon Lake as just a lake, but for me, it is something more special inside; when I go I always get this sensation that cannot be described in words. When I go to Canyon Lake, I specifically go to where the dam is that opens up to Guadalupe River.…

The park has more than one form of habitat. On the Westside of the park the habitat is dominated by forests, pines, cedar, fir, and few sequoia trees. You can find an assortment of wildlife in this region of the park. Due to its mild low-elevation climate and arrangement of habitats and of course the different plant types. In this area you can find black bears, coyotes, raccoons, woodpeckers, bobcats, otters, cougars, and foxes. When you reach a higher elevation the park becomes a forest of fir and pine trees. In this area you find less wildlife. The reason for this is because of the high elevation. The wildlife you can find in this area includes lizards, squirrels, and different bird species. They include jackrabbits, marmots, pikas, and a few different bird species. The park has some meadow areas where you can find bighorn sheep. The sheep can mostly be seen near Tioga…
