When I am walking towards the dam there are countless trees to the left and right of me, which are mesquite trees mainly. When I get closer to the entrance of the dam, to the left there is a resting area that is shaded by trees, so people can rest before or after they finish their hike, walk, or swim. After the rest area, it branches off into three section which is either a trail that leads down to the water (left), the path to the dam (middle), or the exit for the park (right).
The trail to the water leads you to a shore that wraps around the land. If you continue following the shoreline it can lead to more trails through the wilderness, but I preferable stay by the water. When I am down at the shoreline and look up at the dam it is filled with black rocks that go up at least one hundred feet or so. The wall is very steep itself as well and is basically impossible to climb up. The ground is littered with numerous small rocks that hurt your feet if you do not wear shoes, so I always have thick shoes on. I typically sit on the ground that has grass for a good thirty minutes observing the water, and the boats that are out in the
