The best advice that I have ever received is that you should always try your hardest because if you don’t, you will regret it later. I incorporate this advice into my life by working hard in school, clubs, and sports. I know that if I do not try my hardest to reach my goals, I will always look back and wish I could redo it. For example, during a hard practice when I am tired and wish I could stop, I tell myself to keep working harder because I can always do more. I realize that it is always possible to work harder and that the extra work will always pay off. Later in my life, when I have accomplished all of my goals, I will look back at all of the hard work I put in during high school and I will have no regrets. I do not want to look back at high school and wish I had worked just a little bit harder or done a little bit more. This spring, after a track meet or long volleyball tournament, I am often up late finishing homework or studying. Even though I may be very exhausted, I do not quit working on my homework until it is complete and I have done my best work. When I am racing in track or swimming, I try not to slow down at any time, no matter how much I want to. Even though I feel exhausted in the middle of the race, I tell myself to keep going hard because it will be worth it in the end even if I can barely move. Even though I do not know what I want to do with my future, I do know that if I put in as much effort as I can into school and activities now, then it will be a lot easier to reach the goals that I will dream up later on. I know I want to do everything I can to have a great high school experience while working towards my goals at the same time. I never want to look back and wish I could have worked harder or done more, so I am always going to do my best right now while I can.
