Once we arrived at my aunt's house we had a nice feast and I ate as if I hadn't eaten for 3 days. I started to feel a little better but I was still shocked that I left Albania and that we were going to stay here long term. It felt like an instant but some time had passed and it was time for me to start first grade. When we arrived my anxiety level was as high as it could ever get, the schooling in Albania was nothing like it was here, there were so many other kids and their parents, everything felt so full and cramped. To make things even worse, I did not know a drop of English other than, “No speak English” so every time someone talked to me I had to try to ignore then because I could not reply and start a conversation. The next day, I was put into an ESL (English as a second language) class, where I began to learn the English language, grammar, reading, and writing. In that class, I felt somewhat comfortable and at home, no one was weirdly looking at me or laughing at me for not being able to speak, instead, they welcomed me and encourage me to try to become and do
