Write about a TV Programme you either love or loathe
There is so much TV on nowadays that you’d think I would find it easy to choose a programme to write about BUT I really struggled. There are some that I hate like reality TV, The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea to name but two, with their ‘fake’ characters, ‘plastic’ Barbie Doll and Action Man personalities, looks and features. Then there is the ridiculous storylines, so unbelievable, anyone out there in the ‘real world’ agree with my thoughts? In fact if I’m being honest I have never managed to watch an episode of either all the way through!
Eventually I decided on House, an American medical drama with an English actor playing the star role. There is something about the show that keeps me interested, fascinated and switched on- I intend to explore all the combination of features that when you mix them together they blend smoothly like the ingredients of an ice cream sundae.

What makes a good television programme for me would be imaginative script writers who can create original concepts and vivid images, which House does. The images are often so true to life that while I’m watching I can smell the overpowering and unmistakeable aroma of disinfectant and hand wash, taking me back in time to visits in hospital when I was child, not pleasant memories but ones that linger in the back of my mind and resurface like your worst nightmare each time I have to go into a hospital.

The opportunity for characters to grow with an audience is also important to me and you discover more about their lives as the storylines and series develop, all the information isn’t given to you in one huge ‘chunk’. An example of this is the character Lisa Cuddy who is the Dean of Medicine and House’s boss. She is the frequent target of House's insults. I really felt sympathy for her when the storyline that she desperately wants a child is introduced, but she can’t have children. She tells Wilson that she has made three

Surprisingly, reality TV lacks on one important factor that reality TV should incorporate, and that is reality. Many television programs full of high entertainment and creativity are full of lies and as well. Most television producers and directors edit conversations and persuade the stars to make certain decisions. Although there is no written script for the show, that doesn’t stop TV workers from altering reality.…

My most favorite is the First 48 this show follows homicide detectives in real life investigations. The main idea behind naming the show First 48 is, after the first forty eight hours the chances of solving a murder are cut in half. First 48 focuses on the perpetrator of the crime, witnesses, the discovery of the bodies as it happens, and with real footage. With First 48 unfortunately not all the cases get solved by the end of the show. The show goes to the top police departments in the United States, such as Miami, Birmingham, Vegas, and Memphis just to name a few. The detectives show you how the case develops as the hours tick down. At the bottom of the screen the views are notified with a clock counting down. You get to see the arrest and the interrogation of the perpetrator as it happens. They also show the viewer interviews as they happen with the witness, families, and friends of the victim. Most of the crime on First 48 happens in bad neighborhoods, so sometimes the detectives run into obstacles because the witnesses are scared for their life. Occasionally in better neighborhoods witnesses are more willing to help detectives, and the case gets solved quickly. The viewer gets to see the pain, anger and…

Format note: One aspect of the show that I found interesting is the communal telephone. This is also seen on the Real World. So, not only are you able to hear private conversations between people appearing on the show, you also get to eavesdrop in a sense on their private phone calls. You hear the castmates say things that they likely would not say to the other people living in the house, and it adds another layer.…

There are many people in today's society who in watch reality TV for various reasons. In the essay, "The Tribe Has Spoken", Rebecca Gardyn explains how age and gender can affect why people watch reality TV. She also focuses on whether or not reality TV will last. In her essay, there are many different statistics showing peoples perspective on reality TV. Gardyn draws upon different demographics that relate to her essay. Like others in the 18- to 24-year-old age group, I too enjoy watching reality TV. Although I like reality television, I am also interested in other genres as serial dramas because of the suspense.…

The comedy show that my family and I enjoy watching is House of Payne, which airs on TBS every Friday at 8pm. “The Paynes are three generations living under one roof. The story begins when CJ and his family move into the house of his aunt and uncle, a fact that no one is really happy about. CJ has two children, and his aunt and uncle have very different ideas about raising kids. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to the Paynes”. (http://www.tbs.com/stories/story/0,, 107846,00.html). The show is based off real life issues that everyday families experience such as, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, sex, marriage, morals and values, and most of all trust. As, a 23 year old, mother, student, wife, daughter etc, I was able to quickly…

There are many genres and sub-genres of television programs, but almost all shows share the same goal: to make a profit. Canadian television show are no different. Canadian television shows are unique because they offer “gentle comedy” that embraces Canadian values, while also profiting on not only a national market, but globally (Doyle, 2007, p. 5).…

All good television shows have to be intelligent and thought provoking. Grey’s Anatomy is a thought provoking television show. The episodes are based off of actual medical cases. The show also makes someone think about the controversial/ ethical decisions, such as cheating to get a patient at the top of the organ transplant list by cutting his LVAD wire so his condition would worsen. Another show that is thought provoking is Mythbusters. The show makes someone think about how/ why something is happening. Plus, a lot of people are curious and have the same question about certain myths. A show that is definitely thought provoking is Brain Games. It makes people think why the brain/ body reacts the way that it does to an optical illusion. For example, reading the color of a word and not the word itself is so much harder than reading the word and not the color of the word.…

The Essay About a Tv Show

Check, Please! Bay Area is a local TV program, which reviews local restaurants. During each episode, three guests introduce their favorite restaurants to the television audience. Each guest also has to review the other two restaurants that are being featured on the show. Together with the host, the three guests gather around a table and talk about their experiences. The host of the show, Leslie Sbrocco, who has blond hair and wore a brown suit, talked throughout the program with a warm smile on her lips. Her guests were two guys, mark and Modesto, and a lady, Rachel. Mark is around thirty and a youth worker. Maybe because of his job, he has a great sense of humor and was the most interesting person on the show. His skin is brown and his body is big, which made him look like a huge but nice potato. His favorite restaurant is New Kapadokia, a Turkish restaurant. Modesto looks older than Mark and lives in San Francisco. His favorite restaurant, Aperto, is also located in the city. Modesto looks affable and kind. He had black and gray hair and wore glasses. The last guest, Rachel, is an art director. She is also a blond and wore a blue sweater. Rachel dressed kind of elegantly and likes elegant restaurants. The restaurant she preferred, Massa’s, was predictably expensive and formal. The room where the four of them sat looked like a dining room. In the center of the room was a large table on which set four glasses of wine. On other words, the host and guests sat around the table as if they were old friends having dinner and chatting in a luxurious dining room.…
