Answer: If I were to be in Raina's place and I had a little sister like Amara I would be nice to her because I do like to get along with my siblings. I would do things like share, say nice things etc. I say this because I don't really like to argue with family members even if it is normal for sisters to do so. Raina also acted like I would at some point in the story this happened when she lend Amara her colored pencils to draw and was trying to be nice to her even though Amara was being very mean and threw a tantrum because she didn’t want to sit with Amara at the drawing table. This is stated on pg.21. This relates to the theme of the book because even though Amara wasn’t being so nice she didn’t give up and she tried to be nice at the time.
List things that you would bring if you were to go on a road trip to visit your cousins. Explain why you would bring these things. I would bring snacks because if I get hungry then I want to have something quick to fill me up and they are also really good and it will give me an excuse to go to the

It was so heroic, yet immature of her, but that was the moment our relationship strengthened. I knew she liked my brother, but wasn’t so keen on the idea before that day. Just think, Laura,” Anna added, “You would never have been born if I had any say over who my brother married, before Ingeborg saved my book!” Laura, along with everyone else, laughed at Anna’s hilariously absurd statement.…

All families have conflicts, and the Price family is no exception. Within the story there is an overriding conflict regarding the Price women‘s opposition to the move to Africa. Beyond this, Nathan has many other conflicts with each of his daughters. Leah and her father had a very different relationship than the other three Price daughters. Leah is the only daughter that wholeheartedly supports her father completely. As the story moves on she is faced with the harsh realities of daily life in the Congo, and begins to see her Fathers faults. She soon wants to be her own person, and not be controlled by her father. The major parent/child conflict arises when Nathan does not recognize his daughter’s needs and desires. This parent/child conflict between Leah and Nathan in Barbara Kingsolver’s novel, The Poisonwood Bible contributes to the meaning of the story by pointing out that Nathan’s lack self awareness and devoid of guilt is the root of the conflict.…

The major conflict of the novel was portrayed and first introduced to the reader when a mysterious figure suddenly appears at Sethe´s home at random, and who calls herself by the name of her dead daughter, Beloved. Now this is where Morison starts to provide her audience with evidence that explains who Beloved is. Following the appearance of Beloved the reader is left with no actual confirmation of who she truly is and is left to decide the explanation in which they believe in the most. Judith Thurman, for instance, writes in The New Yorker that young woman ¨calls herself by the name of the dead baby, Beloved, so there isn’t much suspense, either about her identity of about her reasons for coming back.¨ In the contrary in The New York Review of Books, Thomas R. Edwards agrees that the ¨Lovely, history less young woman who calls herself Beloved…is unquestionably the dead daughter´s spirit in human…

Although it is not directly apparent, one of the strongest underlying themes of the novel is the idea of justice and penance. As the characters lives are inevitably altered by the chaos around them, they look to themselves as to why they are being punished. They believe that what occurs is penance for the sins they have committed. The theme is introduced to us by Nana, Mariam's mother, when she explains why she built the kolba by herself, "Jalil could have hired labourers to build the kolba, but he didn't. His idea of penance" (Hosseini 10). This was his way of making Nana atone for their affair, even though they were both at fault.…

The theme of this novel is that no matter what happens in your life there is always hope. Throughout the story Beah faced many hardships. I think the biggest hardship he faced was the fact that he was separated from his family. His family was lost out in Sierra Leone and could have even been killed by the rebels. I have no idea what I would do if a civil war broke out in the United States and all of these different militias terrorized different towns killing innocent people for no reason. I cannot imagine how I could handle being separated by my family and being forced to become a kid solider and kill other innocent people. I have no idea how Beah is able to overcome all of this at the age of twelve. Another very sad moment was when Beah was literally down the street from his parents when another group of rebels attacked the village forcing Beah to go into hiding while his family fled away from him. Beah essentially lost his family for a second time. In spite of all that happened to Beah he was able to survive and make a new life for himself and try and forget about his lost childhood. No matter what Beah went through he still had hope.…
