Motley Crue originated in Los Angeles, California in 1981 as a Rock -n- Roll hair band. (starpulse.com, n p). The band consisted of: vocalist Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee (motleycrue.com, 2013). According to Rolling Stone Motley Crue bassist was started by Sixx, a bassist for metal band London, at the time, when he decided to start his own band (2013). Bassist for Crue, Nikki Six wrote the song “You’re all I Need”. Sixx’s girlfriend cheated on him with a guy who had a song out there called "you 're all i need" and Sixx simply switched the purpose turning it from a love song to a threat as a joke. He wrote the song with no intention of recording it, but when the rest of the band praised the song on how awesome it was they recorded it after all (Erlanger, NP). “Your all I Need” debuted on the bands album Girls, Girls, Girls, in 1987.
The video for “You’re all I Need” once banned from MTV for its violence depicts a gruesome murder. The video shows a guy who is abusive and fights with his girlfriend all the time. In a fit of passion she is stabbed and murdered by him. As he is burning pictures of her in the fire place, police burst in to find her in the bedroom on the floor dead. She is placed in a body bag and placed in the back of an ambulance. With the news and crowds of people outside watching in shock he is place in the back of a police car.
