Youth Gang Observation Report

Prevent, intervene, and responding in my opinion or key when it comes to the youth gang activity. After my research, I believe that social media plays a huge part in the recruitment and as a chief of police, I would want to intervene and investigate. Maybe undercover cops and even those in the station can be used to monitor social media accounts of known gang members. We live in an age where flaunting is used to glories gangs and in this incident, must have a way to stop it to the best of our abilities.
Another program I would like to implement everywhere throughout Memphis, I got the idea from the article about reformed gangsters. A Pastor, Steven Hardrick, who moved to Memphis after years of gang banging in New Orleans is part of a new program
called Safe Approach For Education, S.A.F.E., which meets regularly at Fairley High and Wooddale High (Philips, 2016.) If we take past gang members who are reformed and even those who are trying to reform to prevent and intervene the youth that is leaning towards the gang life. We can show them the reality and the fear that goes into being a gang member.
