Zenith: A Short Story
Cadet Alder, and Zenith, are surveying the rocky terrain. The sun beams reflect off the reflective rocks. Life on this harsh world tunnel underground for water and nutrients to survive. It’s dead silent other than the footstep of the two cadets. The hot and dry air, makes you want to drink water with each step. So sign of tree for miles and you know when a fire is burning and the edges of the flame makes what you see goes wavy? Well, everything was seen wavy through horrid heat.
Alder exhausted exclaims “When are we going to be done?”
Zenith replies, “as soon as the dispensing unit, administers the gas. I can’t make it go any faster, dude.”
“Well, when we’re done, I’m jugging a full bottle of Gatorade with no regrets, man,” Alder irritated.
Off into the horizon dancing dots appear, and growing at an alarming rate.
Alder asks Zenith, “I see something!”
Zenith pushes Alder, “They’re coming! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE”
The two cadets book it from the swarm of people. Whenever a group of people chase you, you don’t stay and enjoy the view, you move your butt, and in the case for the two cadets, they were high tailing it from a swarm of zombies.

Nine, eight. They were running at records speeds, like a pack of cheetahs chasing down zebras. Five, four.
“Zenith?”
“Yea, Alder?”
“I was the one who clogged your toilet.”
“You son of a…”

The dispensing unit administered the gas enveloping the cadets and the swarm. The cadets slowed down as the zombies dropped like flies. Their lust for human flesh ceased, as they returned to their former healthy selves.
The cadet’s helicopter flown down to retrieve them.
Sargent Wiskin mocking tells the cadets “Now that wasn’t so hard, was it? You two only need to do this nine more times.”
As the helicopter rode off to the next location, the two cadets thought of colorful language to tell the sergeant, had they ever got the
