One mindset that was altered in Zits after he inhabited his fathers body, was how he felt that he was worthless. Zits viewed his fathers memories of his father. He witnessed the cruelty from his fathers childhood. Zits’s grandfather used to make Zits’s father say “I ain’t worth shit”(Alexie 156). in the bank.
A behavior that Zits and his father had in common before the transformation, was purposely making people angry at them.
Zits’s father made a couple who was trying to help him, angry at him just because he wanted to. Zits made his foster father angry at him by saying “what...ever”(Alexie 14) in response a polite good morning from his foster parents. Inhabiting his fathers body was a very important transformation for Zits. It showed him the exact opposite ways he should behave and think when around others. Zits’s current life and future was transformed because he had a first hand view of how his father acted. Zits went from being a selfish, self-centered and cruel person, to someone who is nurturing and cares for others. Without this transformation of becoming his father, Zits most likely would have ended up exactly like him.
