6102013 Monday 8:00pm Physical Therapist Assistant Program ESSAY 1. What do you believe a physical therapist would do on a daily basis? As a Physical Therapist Assistant, I believe I will be gaining complete handson experience everyday and be kept up with multiple aspects of my job field most of which includes hospital work, childcare, sports training and lastly, elderly care. To be able to interact and converse smoothly would be something crucial especially when being exposed to so many people who have been injured or distressed. I’m convinced the work effort put into the field of study will be fairly intense prior to becoming a PTA. I also know that PTA is growing popular in the demand of jobs. As far as home care goes, I believe that there’ll be a lot of travelling and paperwork involved day to day because of the hands on experience with athome patients and health notes being taken for patients. 2. Why are you interested in pursuing a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant? What appeals to me the most, is the experience, interaction, and care for new people all the time. I like that there will be a completion of an Associate of Science Degree after all hours and courses being finished. There is a yearly income of $40,000 for entrylevel college PTA graduates, the yearly income ranges from a wide variety of pay from $40,000 to well above $85,000 for the most experienced PTA. I also like that there is an immediate chance of me getting hired as an intern shooting straight out of college. Above all, the thing that sets this particular career apart from others is being able to choose whether the job is fast paced or slow paced depending on the branch that suits me best. I’m hoping to pursue and complete all of the above mentioned. 3. What are your experiences with Physical Therapy I’ve had a good amount of situations involving the work of Physical Therapy. My main experiences with physical therapy are being cared for after hyperextending my MCL during football…
The field of physical therapy requires the ability to relate well to people, not only in a physician - patient scenario, but also in the constant interaction with other health care professionals. It aims to restore movement and function, relieve pain, and prevent illness and injury. APTA’s vision for physical therapy “transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience” means differently for every motivated future physical therapist. For me, this vision means changing society by addressing each patient’s needs differently than the next patient. Keeping this notion in mind will help me achieve my goals as a future physical therapist.…

Physical therapy involves treatment through physical means for people disabled by illness, accident, or congenital handicap. It seeks to improve mobility, relieve pain, or minimize permanent physical disabilities (Occupational Outlook Handbook). The physical therapy career field interests me for many reasons. It revolves solely around the human body, which is a fascinating topic to learn about. This area of expertise is flexible and rewarding. There are many specialty areas to choose your career from; some of these include orthopedic, geriatric, neurological, and pediatric. As well as flexible concentrations, physical therapy can have flexible work environments. These jobs can be conducted in many types of facilities such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, private offices, rehabilitation clinics, assisted living facilities, educational institutions, sports centers, and home health agencies (Occupational Outlook Handbook). The work environment and broad range of specializations are major factors in my choice of this career path.…

My educational and career goals is to become a physical therapist. Since I completed my associate degree at Palm Beach State College and my plan right now would be to get my bachelor and master degree. My life experiences which have influenced me to make this decision are when my sister broke her left arm and when my mother used to have a serious foot pain. My sister broke her arm when she was playing at school ;she felt down on her left arm .When she got home, she did not said anything at all about what happened to her at school. Later, she started yelling that she felt pain in her left arm. At night, my family suspected that her skin on the left arm was swollen. After that my parents asked her what happened to her left arm, and then she stared…

I will need an associate's degree to become a Physical Therapy Asst. , and the length of a PTA program is 2 years of general education, PT, and clinical education.…

Occupational therapists are usually working with patients that are not necessarily looking reach ‘normal’ life. They work to educate their patients on how to take care of their daily hygiene tasks, and other work and hobby related skills with their impairment. Education in occupational therapy gives individuals the tools they need to feel they are living a purposeful life. Conversely physical therapists often have patients that are looking to make huge improvements by the time they are finished with treatment. The education physical therapists give individuals is also important, they teach people how to properly perform their exercise routines without inflicting damage to their bodies (Institute for Career Research 11). They also teach patients how to do therapy at home to further their results. Physical therapists similarly give patients tools to make daily tasks easier; however, their goal is to get the patients back their prior state of life so these tools are not meant to be long-term…
