ABSTRACT This is descriptive study which adopts a case study strategy to identify the perceptions of employers and employees in Ghana about productivity and online social networking at the workplace. A number of Tigo staff, top management and customers, IDEG staff and top management and a few friends were interviewed to solicit information about their perceptions on the use of online social networking at the workplace. Some of the results identified were; the most popular networking site, how frequently they log on their favorite sites, where they usually asses the social networking sites from, their support on an outright ban and/or blockage of social networking sites at their workplace and their perception on these social networking sites affecting their productivity at their various work places.
