Since I was so young, I was confused about what was going to be done. I did not really know what tonsils were. All I knew was they were located in my throat. The doctor felt around my throat where my tonsils were located and; explained to me exactly what tonsils were, and what problems they would cause. He would try to speak to me in a way that I would understand. Even though he did, I still did not understand. He told me that my swollen tonsils would cause me to have severe throat pains, and it would make it hard for me to breathe. He said he could help me fix this problem by removing them.
On the way to the doctor's office for my surgery I was very scared. I did not want to get my tonsils taken out. When I heard the nurse call my name I got very nervous, my heart started pounding, and I felt like running away. It felt as if it was a long walk to my room. When I got to my room I got even more nervous, because a nurse came in and she had a table full of needles and a gas mask. There were different size needles on the table, there were small, medium, and a big needles. When I saw the big needle, I really got scared because the nurse was about to put It in my hand. When she put the needle in my hand, it really hurt so I started crying. The pain only lasted for about 5 minutes, because she put the gas mask on my face and before I knew it I was asleep.
After I got out of surgery, I was woken up from my anesthesia. When I woke up, I was crying and scared because I did not see my parents. The doctor went to get my parents to help
