A Speech Example
Good morning, Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh, the Second Finance Minister and Minister of Environment and Public Health, Mr Charlie Oropeza, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.
On behalf of all the players, I would like to express our appreciation to Sibu Volleyball Association for the nurture and support given to us over the last few years, which has allowed us to represent Sibu and Sarawak. Some of us even had the privilege of representing Malaysia in the Asia Under-18 Girls’ Volleyball Championship and the South East Asia Volleyball Championship in Vietnam.
We have learned a lot from volleyball. The sport has not only taught us about teamwork, self discipline, self initiative, leadership and organizational skills but most of all, never give up in the face of challenges.
Having said that, our achievement certainly didn’t come easy but it was the result of our years of hard work, commitment and passion for the sport. I would like take this opportunity to thank our coaches, under the leadership of Mr. Moh for their dedication and ceaseless effort in guiding us, off and on the court. Over the years, we have had so many fond memories of the game and certainly our fair share of ups and down which we will cherish forever.
In the past, whenever we travel to overseas for international tournaments, we would envy those countries which possess stadium of international standard.
And now, our dream of having our very own international volleyball stadium has finally come true, thanks to the main sponsor, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad who had kindly donated 3 million for the building of this stadium, which is the first of its kind in the country. We are confident that the building of this stadium will not only help us in our effort to groom more talented players locally and boost the standard of the games nationally, making the Malaysian volleyball team a truly formidable team

I signed up for volleyball. I have only had two practices. Hitherto, I acquired the skills of passing the ball, serve overhand, and set the ball. I failed to attend the first practice. As a result, I do not know how to properly serve underhand. Practice is every Friday night from six “o” clock to six forty-five at Anderson Farm Park. Moreover drills, we play games. One game I relish is where a person serves the ball to the other side of the net and tries to hit someone. If they are not successful, they have to sit were the ball landed. If they do strike someone, they earn a point. Volleyball is an enjoyable experience.…

With more broadcasts and youth leagues, investors are seeing that this is potential hit. Investors invested money into the growing MLS to have more teams and more stadiums. In 2004, there were only 2 MLS soccer stadiums in contrast to 2014, where now there are 9 and growing (Belson).…

They’ve always been there. They will stand by your side and never give up on you. Even on your worst days, they’ll stick with you because they believe in you. I love being a Lady Knight because of how close we all are. When we step out onto the court, we’re different than other teams. We’re one big efficient TEAM. We are fallible, but knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses has enabled us to play according to one another, and succeed. We’ve put aside the small differences we may have and gained each other’s trust and respect. We spend day in and day out together, in school and out, and this, I really believe, is what makes us a whole. I don’t know what I’d do without you guys… Finally, being a Lady Knight has helped me, I believe, become a better individual myself. It has shaped me, molded me, and changed me for the definite better. I hold more confidence in myself and my abilities as a volleyball player in the two years that I have played for the Lady Knights than I probably would have gained over a lifetime. I am truly honored to have played with such a remarkable group of girls, and have a coach that is the absolute best anyone could ask…

Over the course of the term we as a class have been invited and instructed to play volleyball, success and participation in this sport is determined by a multitude of factors, for example it could be determined by one or many of the Framework’s levels. In this report I will be analysing which level of Figueroa’s framework has the biggest impact on me whether it’d be cultural or institutional. Professor Peter Figueroa developed a tool to investigate the issues surrounding access, equity and equality in sport and physical activity. It has become better known as Figueroa's framework (Yr. 12 Physical Education Board, 2016). Professor Figueroa developed this to investigate the cultural, institutional, individual, interpersonal and societal reasons…

I represented my medical school volleyball team at the annual All-India competition for four years. In order to excel in the game, I went through rigorous practice sessions where I observed experienced players, learned every aspect of the game and practiced it diligently. Along the way, I learned to work under pressure, realized the importance of thorough analysis, hard work and persistence, and developed effective teamwork skills and leadership qualities. I believe that these skills would help me to become a detail-oriented pediatrician who does thorough analysis, can keep calm under high-pressure situations, and can be a supportive team member as well as lead the team when…

As a freshman, with previous experience playing volleyball in middle school and at the beach, this essence of competition was very attractive to me and so I tried out and made the junior varsity team. Last year, during my club season, after sitting on the bench for the first part of the year, my coach recognized my improvement and hard work and gave me the starting role for the second half of the season. The little voice in my head telling me "you'll never make it!" or "you're not good enough!" inspired (and continues to inspire) me to persistently improve every aspect of my playing during practice and such an attention to detail, combined with my inner motivation to improve, lead to my…

After a very successful season of volleyball and great year in school, summer was approaching and soon after club ball. The anticipation for the club season was huge especially because junior nationals were taking place in Reno, Nevada that year and with the team we had our chances at gold were very strong. Tryouts took place about 3 months before nationals and with the teammates that participated we formed a very young but strong 18’s team. This meant…

In our country, everybody is proud of Women’s Volleyball team. In the 1980s, they had won the world championships five times, which helped the team become the symbol of strong will.
