The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series written by CS Lewis. The book series was such a great success that in 2008, the first book was turned into a film. What many people may not realize is that CS Lewis wrote the book series with a specific goal in mind: to showcase the word of God to different parts of the world through an artistic lens.…
How does mankind survive from the Garden of Eden until now? When I read the Old Testament there are lots of Bible story that are really amazing. It is incredible how God moves and do miraculous things. Reading the true word of God in “The Holly Bible” is how we come to know his word. There is no better place to start then with the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible. When we look at the book of Genesis, it starts with telling us God created the heaven and earth. The Lord created earth without form. As he went forth to create the beautiful trees, waterfalls and mountains, the earth took a miraculous form. Let us fast forwarding into the new millennium. Today’s world is filled with tall sky scrapers, masses infrastructure, concrete and asphalt. The beautiful natural world that God created seems to have given away to a manmade world. Man is forcing the animal out of their natural habitat. Many of them are having a hard time adapting to it. As a result more and more animals are added to the endangered species list. As the world continues to populate new town and city are going to be established. As a result of this, they are leaving the animals with less natural environment to live.…
In the debate about religious language, it is important that broadly speaking, there are two types of language, cognitive and non-cognitive. Cognitive language conveys facts i.e. things that we can know or be cognisant of. Non-cognitive language conveys information that is not factual; feelings and emotional claims.…
During the time of Samuel, there was no monarchy in Israel unlike the other countries around. The Israelites wanted a king for themselves where they could actually see and hear. They wanted the same protection that the other nations were getting from their kings. Therefore the Israelites asked Samuel to ask God to nominate a king for them. But Samuel did not like the fact that the Israelites wanted a king, so he prayed God for an answer. God said to Samuel in a sad way to let the Israelites have a king since they do not want me as their king anymore. Samuel told the Israelites what God has said and warned them that they would have to sacrifice part of their life for the king. Despite the warning, the Israelites desired a king who would rule them like the other nations.…
Many ask, “Is the Bible the Word of God?” Dr. Elmer Towns compiled 10 arguments that the Bible is in fact the Word of God. Choosing one of these 10 persuading arguments was a daunting task as they are all equally convincing in my eyes. The extraordinary claims that the Bible is from God intrigued me the most.…
Introduction: The term "image of God" occurs three times in the Bible. In Genesis 1:26-27 and 9:6, we find out that man is created in the image of God. In 2 Cor. 4:4 we see the phrase used in reference to Jesus who is the "image of God." There is no exact understanding of what the phrase means, but we can generalize. It would seem that the first two verses refer to God's character and attributes that are reflected in people. The term cannot be a reference to a physical appearance of God since Jesus says in John 4:24 that God is Spirit, and in Luke 24:39 Spirit does not have flesh and bones. Therefore, we can conclude that the image of God deals with humanity's reflection of God in such things as compassion, rationality, love, hatred, fellowship, etc. God exhibits all of these characteristics, as do people.…
In the following essay on Biblical World View of, Business Administration, with the foundational Christian belief that man was created in the image of God. There will be two examples in this essay that will explain this view. In the first example, I will be going over leadership and how important it is as a Christian to remember your foundational belief that we are created in the image of God. The second example, I will be discussing the importance of honesty for Christians, since we are created in the image of God. “Immediately following each day of creation God saw that it was good, but after the creation of man, God saw that it was very good”. (Online excerpt, Original Creation of man in the image of god, 2013)Being created in the image of God does not just refer to physical appearance; it also refers to the total essence of God.…
A very common debatable topic is text-messaging. Or more specifically the use of text-speak, otherwise referred to as “textese.” David Crystal and John Humphrys have both written articles on text-speak. Both of the articles mention the texting; history, effects, usage and etc.…
I think the people that read this argument want it to be true. Their want to belief blinds them to any objections they might otherwise see in it. They see what they want to…
When looking into different worldviews, it is hard to pinpoint our own actual worldview. We have to look through so many different icons and it is still hard to pinpoint their actual worldview. It seems that many worldviews have such similar aspects. Notably, Mahatma Gandhi had a Buddhist worldview. He views Buddhism as cleansed Hinduism. His view on many subjects were very clear and he became a role model for mostly everyone that came in contact with him. He fought for India is known for his constant non-violent struggle against the British rule in India. Throughout this essay, we will discuss Mahatma Gandhi's take on a few subjects which include family, sexuality, and social issues and from there we will discuss whether or not I feel he is a good role model for myself.…
The world today has many issues and conflicting arguments. One of the arguments that has caught my attention is whether or not there should be prayer in school. According to Rebecca Klein, with (HuffPost Education), in the year of 2014 around 61% of Americans agree with daily prayer in school. While on the other hand, 37% of Americans do not agree with having prayer in school. To me, the schools in the United States should be allowed to have prayer in school because; morals should be taught, to restore Christianity, and to give the students the opportunity to express their feelings.…
Religion has played a major role in our country since the beginning. Our Founding Fathers were very devout Christians. This country was set up with the intent of having our religous freedom secured. They passed laws that created a separation of church and state. However, in recent years this separation has began to deminish. Our government should stand and protect the rights our Founding Fathers instilled in this country.…
A worldview is the lens in which we view everything around us. It is the basis for our beliefs, and it the basis on which we form opinions on a wide rang of subjects. Our worldview can effect our opinions on, politics, education, ethics, the economy, human life, morality, war, science, and ultimately our purpose for living.…
The simple term "proof" is what McCloskey refers to as the arguments. McCloskey feels that because the proofs do not contain definitive evidence for God's existence, they should then be thrown out. This is not a correct way of thinking. The good Lord can not be proven or disproven scientifically. But once a person commits themselves to God and truly lets God in their hearts, this person will have a completely different mind set. Just because there is no definitive evidence of God, does not mean He does not exist.…
The Epistle to the Romans, was written by the Apostle Paul to “To all in Rome who are beloved ones of God, called as saints,” (Romans 1:7), to explain how salvation is offered through the gospel of Jesus Christ (“Epistole to the Romans” 2014) This is considered to be one of the most important religious texts of any time and a major teaching tool that can be used today. What is it that the Book of Romans can teach us today just like it helped teach Christians throughout time?…
