Preferred learning style is a multimodal learning style which includes all of the above mentioned four learning modes. First of all, visual learning strategies include looking at pictures, postures, slides, diagrams, graphs, flow charts, and underlining and highlighting the key words during learning. After the teaching session is over, a visual learner should recall visual images used during learning and should practice turning visual images into words again to be able to write if needed for examination. Secondly, Aural learning strategies include attending classes and then discussing with others to hear from them, attending tutorials, discussing topics with educators, using a tape recorder to record lecture and then listening to it, and reading notes aloud to hear then again in order to remember material. Third, Read/write learning strategies include writing and rewriting key words and ideas, making a new list from diagrams and graphs, reading notes silently over and over, and practicing examination by writing answers. Lastly, kinesthetic learning strategies include using all the senses to learn material via demonstration. It includes experimenting in laboratories, field trips to learn new ideas, listening to lecture which includes real…
Learning style? Why would one need to know a learning style? There is a way for you to find out what type of learning style you have. The VARK learning style assessment tool, developed by Neil Fleming, is an assessment that can be taken to discover ones learning style. There are several learning styles; kinesthetic style; those who learn from hands on experience, auditory learners; a learning style of memorization by retaining what is heard (Blasen, n.d., para.1), visual learners; individuals who retain best through written language such as reading and writing ("VARK Questionnaire," 2011, para. 1), and last multimodal study strategy; a learning strategy of…
David Kolb’s learning theory sets out four distinct learning styles which are based on a four stage learning cycle.…
I have to identify the different learning styles bearing in mind Honey and Mumford’s analysis of different learning styles in 1982 that classifies learners into four groups of activists, reflectors, theorists and pragmatists. No individual has all the characteristics of one group. My goal would be to make it easy for my learners to switch from one learning style to another. I can achieve this by the variety of tasks I provide.…
Learning styles are based on individual ability and desire to learn, the three main learning styles are visual, auditory and…
A learning style is the way in which a person processes new information. In the learning system there are three main types of learning which are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. People may learn best by being taught with the three learning methods, but others may not. Visual learners are people who learn by seeing. These people learn more where there are images, graphs, diagrams, and colors involved. Visual learners are learners that first have to see what they are expected to know. Auditory learners learn best by hearing. Lastly, there is the kinesthetic learners, also known as tactile learners, those learners learn best by the physical activity. In a class the students’ way of learning might not be the way the professor…
A learning style simply means how one learns and remembers information. Visual, auditory, or kinesthetic are the different learning styles. Learning styles can greatly go with personality, for instance a visual learner is usually neat and organized, while a kinesthetic learner is not so organized and impulsive. The visual learner thinks with pictures, likes to write things down, and can usually retain information easily. The auditory learner listens to information best and can usually verbalize and tell stories. Finally, the kinesthetic learner is a hands-on learner, likes to move around, and usually does not like to read directions. A teacher needs to recognize what type of learner each student is to understand how the student processes…
Learning styles theory originated in the 1970’s and is based around the idea that people have preferences about how they like to learn. Theorists believe that each individual has a particular learning style that is best suited to them and allows them to collect and process information successfully in order to learn. The principle idea is that these learning style differ from one individual to the next and theorists argue that school teachers should incorporate these learning styles into their lessons so that student is catered for and everyone can learn effectively. Many educationalists believe that differences in learning styles are responsible for some student difficulties, for example, if a student is taught…
| My preferred general learning style is auditory, which means I do best by hearing. However, I am considered a multi-sensory learner. There are times where I learn best by doing, and then there are other circumstances where I learn best by observation. I am flexible and my preferred learning style really boils down to, it depends on the environment, task, and information being presented.…
There are several types of learning style which include auditory, visual, and tactile. My learning style is an auditory learner which means I learn better by listening and hearing. I tend to store my information by how it sounds not looks; therefore written instruction is hard for me I rather hear my directions. People tend to think I am not paying attention but I really am hearing them and understanding better than they think. Sometimes you will find me reading out…
In a recent study, I was able to determine which learning style category I fell into. Three learning style categories were discussed. Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic Learning Styles were presented. The first part of the assessment was to go through three different lists consisting of different habits often associated with learning and studying. I was to read through each list and check off all that applied to my personal study and learning habits. When I was done, I found that I am dominantly a Visual Learner. Some of the characteristics I possess in relation to being a Visual learner are 1) I often ask for instructions to be repeated 2) I like to use maps or note cards when I review my notes 3) The best way for me to remember something is to picture it in my head. These are some…
There are a variety of different learning styles, many of which vary between each particular person. There are no two people which are the same but these have been split into categories so that people can understand and learn the best way possible for themselves. There is active and reflective, sensory and intuitive, visual and verbal and also sequential and Global.…

The center of new discoveries in learning is a way you can learn the style on how to reach your highest learning potential. Are you a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? Learning Styles affect everything you do, how you think, your work and even your relationship. The first secret to making learning faster and easier is to understand your personal learning style preferences.…
My learning style is noted to be multimodal. This style stipulates that an individual has multiple ways of learning, instead of one or two ways as other learners. Some persons maybe a Visual learner meaning that they learn by looking at pictures or diagrams. Others may be Aural, by listening they learn best. There is also a learning style that best suits some individuals called the Read/Write where individuals learn by taking notes and reading in order to memorizing. Another style of learning is the Kinesthetic where individuals who prefer this style…
