No matter age, gender, culture, or background all children have the ability to succeed. They have the ability to surprise individual’s everyday, and touch hearts. Yes, adults can help prep children for school, or throughout school but should teachers take all the credit? Children have the ability to learn on their own, not everything of course. But there is a great amount of a thing a child learns on its own, yes there is assistance but that’s all it is, assistance.
The children of today are the future of tomorrow. I have heard this so much but never really paid much attention to it, until that is, when I started my practicum. The kindergarten children I work with really are the future of tomorrow, and there should be a great emphasis on this. Adults should really think this way, because their time is coming to an end and there is a new generation coming to take over. The children of today have the power for tomorrow; they have the power and will have the power until there is another set of children for the next generation.
Intelligence is all around us, I don’t measure intelligence, and I believe intelligence shouldn’t be measured the way it is measured today. Expectations are high, and children are being set for failure. Intelligence comes in different forms and shapes, intelligence is in individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism, ADHA, speech disorder, and I can keep this list going. I have a baby cousin, his name is Robert, he has Down Syndrome and I have never learned so much from anyone else, like I have from him.
